A past and a future but no life in between
Picking at snares and pulling out seams
A dress is sown but soon outgrown
And everything, everything fades with timeDeep in the mind is heard the old rhyme
Mamma once read line by line
But mamma is dead so you stay in bed
And everything, everything fades with timeWind beats the house and rattles the chime
Insistent, like a beggar asking for a dime
You've none to spare but you still care
And everything, everything fades with timeLife is bitter yet we suck on limes
Adding more sorrow must be a crime
But the salt and the sweet make me complete
And everything, everything fades with timeEyes droop, laden with grime
Accumulation of troubles over a lifetime
A welcome sleep for the soul to reap
And everything, everything fades with timePlease, make everything, everything fade with time
