But Daki was quick and finally took a note of the newcomer, jumping away just in time to avoid the deadly silver blade aimed at her neck.

"Tch." she spat at the same time as (Y/N), alas, much louder.

Tanjiro could only stare at the scene with his maroon eyes wide in astonishment.

"Ren-san?"

Daki sneered at the rounin-like person in front of her and glared at him so intensely that if looks could kill, he would already be dead. Something was weird about him, his presence was unnatural and inhuman, one she knew all too well. So the abomination was calling itself Ren when it wasn't in the Tokito house, huh? Probably another of the Demon Slayer corps but this one was different, dangerous. A hatefull smirk spread over her lips as she focused her eyes on the sword-carrying individual, the battle frozen after their entrance.

"Ibara." she spat, voice full of venom.

She knew something was wrong with the woman from the very first moment she saw her. The way she carried herself with such grace but her muscles were always slightly tensed, ready to fight at any given moment, footsteps so quiet that no one noticed them half of the time. The way her skin was so perfect and blemishless, smile and voice alluring but she avoided all the costumers, it was strange. And there was something in her eyes, something sharp like a blade, venomous like a snake and deceitfull like a fox, all hidden under that fake good girl act.

But why wasn't she answering? Why was her face suddenly covered and her clothes looked like they were intended for male? Was she actually a man, just like the kid she was protecting? No, that was impossible, no man could be this beautiful! But those (E/C) eyes were just staring at her, cold and emotionless and void of any mercy. She was sure a lower demon would have shuddered if that gaze was directed at them, that was how icy it was.

"What, bitch? Forgot how to speak?" she taunted, hoping to get a reaction out of her but achieving nothing.

A subtle movement of Ibara's free hand, that was all it took for the maroon haired boy to rush in Daki's direction, much faster than before. He was nothing like the kid she fought only minutes prior, everything about him changed when he switched his breathing form. Her face twisted in disgust and anger. How dare the damn woman start the fight again when she wasn't even done talking? She should know her place! Daki was determined to figure out just what it was that made Ibara so different from others but she could get answers after the boy was dead and the woman lying in a pool of her own blood. And so, the battle continued.

Tanjiro dashed off in the demon's direction right as Ren's hand moved. He knew what it meant, it was a subtle signal to engage again. He didn't mind if the rounin was using him as a distraction, he fully trusted his judgement and decided to follow whatever he was planning. But the oiran was fast, faster than even Rui back on Mount Natagumo. However, this time he had an ace up his sleeve as well and he willed his body temprature to raise higher. He had to be stronger, faster, better! Even if he managed to deflect the shashes, he couldn't get through her tight defences, but wouldn't let it discourage him.

He could fight an Upper Moon like this, he even had Ren on his side now! He wanted to protect everyone, he wished to never see anyone go through the same loss he and his friends endured. Rengoku... he missed him dearly. Kocho lost her older sister, basically everyone in the Corps was robbed of at least one loved person by the demons. But if he could stop it, he would. And if he couldn't... he would at least try.

As he was sparring with the demon, suddenly sashes came out of nowhere and started entering her body. Before they could be fully absorbed however, multiple swords, swished through the air and pinned them to the ground. They were way too fast, gliding expertly and hitting their targets with chilling acuracy. He felt a strong current of wind follow them and it could be just his imagination, but he would swear he saw small sparks dissisipate into the air. The oiran's head whipped to the attacker, teeth barred and eyes wide, full of bloodlust. Her appearance started to change, hair slowly turning pale silver but not completely.
