I chucked some of my stuff into Luis's car and hopped inside. "Ready?" I asked.
"Only if you are." He nodded.
"Let's go." I slipped my seatbelt on.
He started driving to the baseball field and he looked really cute. I couldn't stop staring at him.
"You've got a staring problem." He chuckled.
"What?" I snapped out of my gaze. "Oh, no, uh, sorry, I-I was just-"
"I was kidding." He chuckled lightly. "It's fine."
"Right." I nodded.
I looked away from him and into the darkish night. "You excited?" I asked.
"For a sunrise?" He sighed.
"Come on, Luis. It's pretty."
"Oh, yeah!" He sarcastically smiled. "I'm so excited for a sunrise!"
I scoffed but saw a real smile creep onto his lips. "I'm kidding." He reassured. "I'm pretty excited."
"Good." I chuckled. "Because there's no backing out now."
He shrugged. "I can easily turn this car right back around."
"Jerk." I punched his arm lightly.
He laughed and shook his head. "You're cute."
My cheeks instantly burned. "What?"
He looked at me quickly then back at the road. "I meant that in like...a friend way, n-not like that..."
"Oh, uh, yeah." I chuckled awkwardly. "Of course..."
We sat there in awkward silence but I brightened up once I saw the field come into view. "There it is!" I smiled.
He pulled up to the fence and I excitedly hopped out. I grabbed my stuff and Luis sighed. "This is old."
I nodded. "Yeah, some kids used to play baseball here but they all moved away so now it's always empty. I come here a lot."
"Hm." He hummed while nodding.
"Come on." I grabbed his hand.
I led him to the old treehouse and frantically climbed inside. I plopped my stuff down and Luis slowly crept in behind me.
"Wow..." He mumbled. "It's quite nice."
"Right?" I nodded.
I plopped down on the old, red couch and sighed with satisfaction. Luis plopped next to me and examined everything. "Is this stuff from the kids who used to play here?"
"I think so." I shrugged. "It's not mine."
He hummed while nodding slightly. "Cool."
I shrugged. "I guess. It's just a bunch of baseball stuff."
"Baseball is cool." He looked at me.
"I never said it wasn't." I chuckled.
"You technically did." He joked.
"Oh, shut up, Mendoza." I rolled my eyes playfully.
He laughed and ran a hand through his hair.

5 am finally pulled around, which meant, sunrise time. I shook Luis awake and he groaned. "What?"
"It's time to watch the sunrise." I smiled.
