Smita POV

27th March, 2021.

It striked 5 in the evening, so I decided to write to y'all, as I was sitting for a while.

Dhruv had gone out for a while, to get some groceries, and everyone else had left.

Annd, we're in our own house now, so that means, only Anjali Di and Mummy, Papa, Nani Ji were downstairs.

I decided to go downstairs with my laptop.

"Bhabhi. Kya kar rahi ho?" Di asked. (Bhabhi. What are you doing?)

"Kuch nahi, Di. Wattpad update." I said. (Nothing, Di.)

"Main kuch madad kar doon, sweetheart?" I heard a voice. (Can I help you, sweetheart?)

"Please." I said.

Dhruv sanitized and kept the groceries in the kitchen.

"Suno. Hath dho kar aana. Sanitizer sirf 24 ghanto tak bachta hai." I said. (Listen. Wash your hands and come. Sanitizer only lasts for 24 hours.)

"Fine." Dhruv said. I heard he washed his hands, and brought out something for me.

I looked at him, and pecked him on the lips.

"Thank You. I was just craving the mixed berry flavour of epigamia." I said.

"Tum aise baat kar rahi ho ki kisi ko bhi lage tum pregnant ho." Dhruv chuckled. (You're talking like you're pregnant already.)

"Shut up. It's only been a day of our marriage. I told you, jitni masti karni hai abhi protection ke saath, atleast till another two years." I said, which resulted to everyone looking at us. (Whatever fun you wanna have, for now, we'll have with protection.)

"Aur kal jo protection ke bina hua tha?" He asked, everyone smirked, and I blushed. (And what about yesterday's events which occurred without protection?)

"I'm on the pill, but still. Now shut up and help me." I said.

"Your wish is my command, Mrs. Smita Madhu Singhania." He said.

Flashback (26th March, 2021.)

I sprang up at 6 a.m. sharp. How can I sleep when it's my wedding?

Yes, even I can't believe it. The day we'd all been waiting for.

I wore a simple churidar, and went down.

All the preparations were in full swing.

Mom noticed me first.

"Smita, phero ka muhurat 4:28 se hai. To shaadi 4 baje se shuru ho jaygi. To - " Mom started. (Smita, the auspicious time for the seven nuptial rounds is from 4:28 pm. So, the wedding will begin from 4 itself. So - )

"Mujhe taiyar karne ke liye 3 baje se room main rehna padega?" I asked, smiling. (I have to stay in my room from 3 itself to get ready?)

Mom nodded, and rushed off.

I felt someone snaking an arm from behind my waist.

"Hello, snake looking like a pair of hands from behind my waist." I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

I turned around.

"Well, everyone's up now. But, I'm not up." Dhruv said.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"I'll wake up today when you'll look like that accessible goddess I've been waiting to reunite with - With your jewellery, that reddish pink lehenga, and of course, your mehendi." He said.

"Okay, okay, fine." I smiled.

I rushed off to do some more work and Dhruv went out - I don't know where, but he said he'd be back in 15 to 20 minutes.

I was helping with the caterers, calling them up and ordering them about.

"Hello? Ha bhaiya. Aaj meri shaadi hai. Aur ha, ice cream thodi si bhi pighal gayi to aapko ek paisa nahi milega. Samjhe aap?" I said, cutting the call. (Hello? Yes, brother. Today's my wedding. And, yes, if the ice - cream melts even slightly then you won't be given a single rupee! Do you understand?)

"Hello? Ha. Aur baki mithaiyo ke sath sukhe mawe ka sugar free halwa bhulna mat. Hamare hone wale papa ji ko diabetes ki  bimari hai." I argued. (Hello? Yeah. And sugar free dry semolina pudding should also be there. My to - be father in law has diabetes.)

"Sooji? Ahaha. Ab aap mujhe sikhayenge ki quality kya hoti hai? Mere nanaji halwai the, aur main businessman ki patni hoon. Sukhe mawa ka hi banao aap!" I said, disconnecting the call. (Semolina? Wow. Now you'll tell me what quality is? My maternal grandfather was a confectioner, and I'm the wife of a businessman. Just make it from Dry Semolina!)

I heard the clearing of a throat from behind me.

"Abhi se hi businessman ki patni?" The devil smirked. (You're the wife of a businessman from now itself?)

"Ha - kuch hi ghanto main." I smiled. (Yeah - just in a few hours.)

He lightly kissed my forehead.

"Acha - ab mujhe jane do. Aur bhi kam hai." I said. (Okay - now let me go. I have more work to do.)

"Okay. Main decorations ki madad kar deta hoon." Dhruv said, rushing off. (I'll help with the decorations.)

"Hello? Ha, Smita bol rahi hoon. Arey, aap pehle insaan ho jinko mera order sahi se pata hai. Thank You." I rambled on. (Hello? Yes, Smita speaking. Oh, you're the first person who knows my order correct. Thank You.)

I didn't notice that Ma and Mummy were looking at me.

They came up to me.

"Arey, Smita, kya kar rahi ho tum?" Ma asked. (Hey, Smita, what're you doing?)

But I still rambled on with the phone.

Ma took it away.

"Baitho." Mummy said. (Sit.)

"Kavitha Ji, apne kabhi aisi dulhan dekhi hai?" Mummy asked. (Kavitha Ji, have you ever seen a bride like her?)

"Nahi - Par - " Ma started. (No - but - )

"Dhruv jaisa dulha bhi toh kabhi nahi dekha, right?" Mummy asked, and they started a laugh fest. (We've never seen a groom like Dhruv too, right?)

Ma turned to me.

"Maharani, shaadi ka mandap 500 metre door hai iska yeh matlab nahi hai ki kabhi bhi taiyyar hone se pahunch jayenge hum. Kripa karke taiyyar ho jaiye." Ma said. (My Queen, the marriage hall is just 500 metres far away doesn't mean that you'll get ready late, and we'll reach in time. Have some pity on us and get ready.)

"Par - Ma - abhi toh sirf 10 baje - " I was startled as I looked at the time. (But, Ma, it's only 10 - )

"Sade do kab baj gaye?" I shrieked. (When did it strike 2:30?)

I looked at Ma and Mummy, who nodded.

"Bhabhi, hame tumhari madad karni hai. Chalo." (Sister - in law, we have to help you. Let's go.) Anjali Di said, coming out of nowhere.

We went in my room, and it was Me, Ma, Mummy, Anjali Di, and Samita Di.

I had worn my lehenga, as the rest of the ladies put all that jewellery on me.

My wrist was filled with bangles until the mehendi.

When it was done, everyone looked at me.

"All done. Wow, Smita." Samita Di said.

"I have a feeling my brother's gonna feel faint after he sees you." Anjali Di said.

I blushed.
