So, this is a bit of a challenge. I've never done 12 and reader before, and it's 12 and a form of love...hmm...

Also, I realized that I didn't really have conflict in my last ones. Sorry about that. This one will have some.

Anyway, hope you enjoy!

12th Doctor X Reader-- Valentine's Day

"Oh Doooctooor!" You yelled to the Doctor as you skipped to the console room.

"What iiiis it, human?" The Doctor yelled back in his grumpy/normal voice.

You trotted down the stairs into the room. "Guess what day it is."

"What day is it?" He sighed, almost smiling at your excitement.

"Guess."

"Oh, I don't know. . .Christmas?" He asked blandly.

You shook your head. "Nope."

"American Thanksgiving."

You laughed. "No. Guess once more."

He faked a look of surprise. "Oh! International Netflix Day!"

"What? No! That's not even a thing!" You laughed, amazed at how off he was at guessing the correct date.

"You would make it a thing if you could," the Doctor pointed and narrowed his eyebrows in a teasing way. "You and your fringe-watching, or whatever you call it."

"Doctor, it's binge-watching!" You cried, laughing. "And anyway, shut up."

"Whatever, Binge Lady," the Doctor said as he typed in some coordinates. "So, where do you want to go today? I was thinking deep sea exploration, on the first submarine. The first working one."

"Doctooor," you whined. "You haven't even figured out what day it is yet!"

He sighed. "What day is it, and why is it so important to you, (y/n)?"

"It's Valentine's Day, Doctor!" You exclaimed incredulously. "And it's important to me because. . .um. . ."

"Oh, is that the odd love day? No wonder you're so excited about it-honestly, humans have too many holidays devoted to love," the Doctor cut in, and you only stood with your mouth hung open.

"Doctor, Valentine's Day is about showing the people you love how much you care for them! Like many other days, yes, but this is special, because it's mainly devoted to friends and lovers, not just any family member or stranger!"

The Doctor snorted as he pushed some buttons on the console. "Humans and their over-glorification of things, I'm telling you. You just say that to cover up for the fact that you just want to receive gifts of chocolates and flowers from each other."

"Doctor, please," you were starting to beg now, clutching onto his arm and whining. You knew it was hard for him to deny the whining. "Just one place, one sight-seeing trip. We haven't done anything like that in ages. And- you did promise me a relaxing trip after we ran into those Sontarans last time."

The Doctor once again sighed loud, long, and very dramatically. "Fine." He went to type in a new set of coordinates.

"Yes!" You jumped up excitedly, and hugged him for just a few seconds. "Thank you!"

He grunted. "Yes, yes, now off you go to get ready! I set course for earth, the year 1915. The TARDIS will give you appropriate clothing."

You nodded excitedly. "Be back soon."

~20 minutes later~

You walked out into the console room and spun around in front of the Doctor. "How do I look?" You were wearing beautiful 1915 apparel: a long dark maroon dress that sunk to just above the floor, with a low cut neck, and with heels and a large hat with a pretty faux flower to match.

"Oh, (y/n), you look lovely," the Doctor said, then mumbled, "Even for a human!"

"What was that last bit?" You asked, eyebrows raised.

"Nothing, nothing," the Doctor said with a mischievous smile and pulled down a lever to go to 1915- New York.

When it finally landed and you walked out the doors arm in arm, you were pleased to see a beautifully simple New York City, but something did not seem right about those people...and wait, was that a cellphone?...

*5 hours later*

"I am sorry that those Cybermen ruined our trip, (y/n)," the Doctor said as he closed the door of the TARDIS urgently behind him. "I wanted to bring you on a relaxing adventure for once."

"That's okay, Doctor," you laughed. "It was fun, that's all that matters."

The Doctor nodded and smiled apologetically as he pulled a lever so that the TARDIS could float in the Time Vortex.

"You know..." You began speaking after a thought, "it was still celebrating Valentine's Day."

"How so?" The Doctor asked with one eyebrow raised.

"First of all, it was obviously Valentine's Day. Didn't you see all those couples before the Cybermen invaded? They were definitely having nice dates. And we got to save them and their dates later on. We showed love to them. Also, you saved me a few times, and I saved you a few times. That's love, Doctor," you smiled sweetly. "A promise you make. A promise to keep someone safe, and a promise to care for them."

Smiling softly, the Doctor nodded again. You assumed he didn't know what to say in this situation, and neither did you. So, you decided to give him a big hug, to which he at first protested.

"Now-now (y/n) you know I don't..." He sighed. "Well, fine. It is Valentine's Day."

Grinning, you said, "Happy Valentine's Day, Doctor!"

OKAYYY then. Sorry that it was short, not very fluffy (I was trying to show a friendship fluff), but I did my best! And finally, I finished the Valentine's series! Almost a month after Valentines Day XD oh well.

Hope you enjoyed it! I'll try to do some requests that you guys did forever ago soon!
