"Mommy! Mommy!" Hendrix excitedly yelled while running over to me with a new toy he got for Christmas
"I see it baby" I told him before looking down, opening one of kinsley's toys while she sat on my lap
I honestly wasn't in the Christmas spirit at all after what happened with meechie last night. My mind could not wrap around the fact that somebody really tried to take my brother out. MEECHIE out of all people. This shit just wasn't right at all
"Kay. You okay?" My momma asked and I nodded
"Yeah"
She sighed while standing up and walked over to where I sat on the floor and rubbed my back "he's gonna be okay Karma"
All I could do was shake my head as Benji walked into the living room rubbing his face. Every since we left the hospital early this morning he has barely said single word.
"Da da" kinsley yelled while holding her hands up. Benji picked her up and kissed her before grabbing his phone off of one of the chairs where he left it when we got home
"Did benji come in here?" Serenity asked as she walked into the living room. Previously being in the kitchen with Shonda helping her cook breakfast "Benji, momma said come here"
He muttered something to himself before following behind serenity to go to the kitchen and I just looked at Hendrix, who continued to pull stuff from under the tree while Kyran had fallen back asleep on the chair I sat in front of
"I need meechie to pull through"
"He will karma. I need y'all to think positive. Where's Arielle?"
"At the hospital with him. I was on the phone with her until about an hour ago. They were supposed to spend Christmas together and I asked her to come over here but she didn't wanna leave him"
"Did they say where he got shot?"
"Twice in the torso, once in the shoulder and once in the arm. And they had to do surgery to remove one of the bullets"
"The surgery's gonna go good, he's gonna recover and everything is gonna be okay. Just keep praying"
I nodded. "You right.. you right. I need to think positive"
"Yes because as goofy as that boy is.. and lord knows, he's goofy. He's a tough one. So you stop worrying, enjoy Christmas morning with your family and keep checking on Ari until y'all go to the hospital later" my momma told me as I laid my head on her shoulder
"I don't know what I would do without you"
"I don't even wanna think about what you would do without me cause lord knows." She laughed at little before looking down at me "And truth is, I don't know what I would do without you baby girl"
"It's time to eat" serenity said as she poked her head back into the living room, looking over at Hendrix "come eat Hendrix"
He grabbed one of his new trucks and followed behind serenity to go eat
"That boy still got gifts and stuff under the tree. All of em do. Yesterday morning Meechie dropped off a bunch of Christmas gifts for them, mostly Hendrix though"
"Awee"
"Yeahhhh. Uncle meesh love him some Hendrix" I sighed before trying to stand up but turned to look at her "Ma you gone have to help me off this floor"
"Child you suppose to be helping me"
"Oh my gosh" I groaned "well I guess we both about to be sitting down here for a minute"
