Those words were being thrown at me as I was being cornered by three of the people on the basketball team..including Andrew.
"No one wants a little fairy like you walking through these halls" Andrew said "it's not normal to be gay" another one said "we should try to beat the gay out of him..maybe he'll learn his lesson" my heart started to pound out of my chest. All this just because of who I love...
Reality finally sunk in when Andrew threw a punch at him hitting me on the side of my face.
I slid down the wall feeling completely out of it and dizzy as they continued to hit me.
"This" punch "is what" another punch "you get" punch "for being" punch "gay" they hit me one last time before they got off of me and left.
I looked up to see a whole crowd standing around me. Some smirked, laughing and whispering to others. It was pretty embarrassing
I got myself up, still feeling extremely dizzy, and walked into the closest bathroom, locked myself in a stall, and started sobbing.
Why was I like this
Why did I just have to turn out gay
Why can't people accept me for who I am...
It's not like I'm any different from them...I mean, except for the fact that I like men.
I took my phone out and opened my front camera to see how badly they had beaten me
I wasn't surprised when I was all the marks and bruises that were starting to form...
It's honestly disgusting how people can seriously be like this.
I opened my messaging app and texted victor

Me: victor, can you come to the bathroom on the second floor...I need you🥺
Victor: is everything alright?
Me: honestly...not really :(
Victor: I'll be there in a minute

Soon after the text messages the bathroom door open
"Benji? Are you in here?" I heard victors voice
I got up from the floor and opens the stall and saw victor standing by the sinks
"Oh my gosh, benji, what happened." He said coming over to me. He went to try and touch my face and I flinched back harshly. "I'm sorry..what happened?" He asked grabbing a napkin "this is gonna hurt...but I need to clean this and then we'll go to the nurse" he told me and he started wiping the blood off of my face
"Three of the basketball players just beat me up by my locker..." I told him "who?" He asked "the only one I recognized was Andrew" I said on the verge of tears again "are you kidding me.." he pulled back from me and I looked down "I'm sorry-" he stopped me "don't apologize. This isn't your fault at all..."
"Do you really love me?" I asked and immediately regretted what just came out of my mouth "of course I do. Why would you ask that" tears ran down my face "I'll always love you, Benji. You mean the absolute world to me.." he said hugging me "they keep telling me that you still like Mia and you don't love me" I sobbed "aww, baby, don't listen to them. You're part of my life that I love so much. I don't like Mia nearly as much as I love you." I smiled pulling away from him as the last bell of the school day rang
"Come on let's go home.." he said grabbing my hand as we walked out of the bathroom
We got weird looks and stares but I didn't care at that moment. We love each other and nothing was ever going to change that...
