11-year-old Benji never understood why his mom did what she did to him and now he's 15 and still doesn't get it.

His mom decided it would be best to give him up. she basically sat down with one of her close friends and his husband and told them he was gonna be staying with them. They both took him in with open arms and adopted him officially 8 months later

Originally Benji wasn't really fond of the idea. He's known his mom's friends since he was born, he was actually one of the first people to hold him in the hospital. They had practically grown up together. It was the thought of being a burden to them that he didn't like...they were two busy people. One was a small actor and the other was a singer. The last thing he wanted to do was put extra stress on them that they didn't need.

So it was either, live with them and be loved by people who genuinely cared about him or be forever hated by his mom and never have a stable household. Benji obviously chose the first option.

He tried to be as good as he possibly could while living with them for the first year, he cleaned, helped cook, went to school, and got good grades, just so they wouldn't have to worry so much about him.

Now it's been 4 years, he's almost 16 now and he definitely enjoys his two dads, but he usually has a difficult time trusting people because of his mom's past actions.

"Benji, darling, come on it's time to get up" my dad said in his fake British accent that he loves so much. I groaned and pulled the covers over my head "Benjiiiii" he sang "I'm not gonna leave until You get up" he said lying back on my bed "also, stop throwing your clothes everywhere before you go to sleep" he giggled throwing my shirt at me

I sat up and rubbed my eyes "oh look, the prince himself has finally awoken. Get ready and come eat so you can do to school" he ruffled my hair before exiting my room

"So have you made any friends yet?" my dad asked "dad, it's only the first week of school, of course I haven't" I said and continued eating "Benji, you can't just go through high school without a single friend..you have to at least try" he said "papa did it" they both sighed "but, in my senior year I met your dad and I had your birth mom" papa told me me "I don't need friends. I'm fine being a loner. And how did you even meet my mom? She's so much older than you?" I asked "I was friends with her little sister and we all just kinda hung out with each other" he explained

I wasn't fine being a loner, honestly. I see all these kids hanging out after school and during school and I get really jealous...I just wish I wasn't so anti-social so I could actually go up to someone and start a conversation without any awkwardness
