"Go ahead 472. Go see your family."
I hesitantly walk towards the front door looking back making sure I'm not being deceived. I knock on the door slowly and then whistle 2 high notes waiting for his response.
Caden opens the door with wide eyes whistling the lower copys of mine.
"Ara?" He asks me in disbelief.
"Caden." I say with tears in my eyes.
He flings his arms around me giving me a tight hug. And then grabbing my hand and pulling me inside the house. I walk into the living room. The dark red walls that dont go with the mismatched furniture, the hardwood floor. The TV hooked on the wall. It was all the same.
My parents look at me in shock before I'm trapped in a hug. My cat, Cotton, fur white as snow, comes rubbing against my legs. And I feel happy for the first time in a long time.
Until they strike.
I hear the gun cock to late and in minutes they're dead. Everyone of them gone, even Cotton. I stood frozen in fear with fear turning to anger and anger turning to absabsolute hatred.
My eyes and hands started to glow white with rage. I turned towards the Hydra soldiers, they look terrified. I imagined them gone not existing anymore. And so they didn't. They turned into ashes and there wasnt anymore ashes. No trace of them having ever existed.
My power faded and with it came immense sadness. I leaned down to check their pulses. Mom. Dead. Step dad. Dead. Just as I'm about to feel Cadens pulse i notice his labored breathing. He says to me"Live life the best you can. Live out your dreams. Dont take your own life because ours were taken." And then he stops breathing. I feel numb.
I grab my mother's phone to call the police. I told them I came home and they were dead, as to not raise suspicion about their killers.
I went to my room which hadn't been touched and packed my bag full of the things I would need. Clothes, pocket knife, and water bottle.
I was outside of my house hiding in the shadows of the woods when the cops came. I couldnt let them put me in the system so I ran. I ran around Tennessee doing jobs like yard work and pet-sitting so I could get food and stay alive. But every night I heard the shots that took their lives and every night i saw them dead. Their lifeless bodies pale, their eyes unfocused, the blood seeping through the chest, and my little brothers last words to me,"Live life the best you can. Live out your dreams. Dont take your own life because our were taken."
End nightmare
I woke up with a start. Sweat rolling down my face. My breathing fast. I sat up looking into the darkness. And then I heard a ding. I looked over at my now illuminated phone screen seeing I had a notification from the group. I grabbed my phone and pulled up the chat to see what they wanted at 3 in the morning.
