About the Author

Q: What drove you to pick up a pen/ laptop and decide: "today is the day that I am going to write a book?"

A: It was all spontaneous. I was just reading some of my favorite books and to be honest, I hadn't tried all the functions of Wattpad at that time. I was just a silent reader. So, when I accidentally clicked on the function to write, it amazed me. I was thrilled because in the past I had many drafts of my own on my laptop and I felt that 'Yes, now I can tell all the stories in my head to the world'. At that moment, I just wanted to write and write, not for anyone else but me. So, I would just say it was a spontaneous action that led me to delve into the world of writing.

Q: Briefly explain a few challenges that you face as a writer and what you do to dismiss the problem, please.

A: Honestly speaking I have many things that avoid me from writing, procrastination, writer's block, and the flooding of ideas. I am a major procrastinator and I just cannot maintain a proper schedule. Either I will write an entire chapter within a day or I will not write at all. There is no in-between for me. I am still figuring out how to avoid procrastinating, but if I have to advise someone, I would ask them to maintain a proper schedule. Writing at least ten minutes a day is beneficial. Also, it is advisable to maintain an update schedule. My suggestion is to update twice a week because that way you will be forced to write.

For writer's block, I try the challenges hosted by various ambassadors all over Wattpad. It gives me a break from writing my book and time to write in different genres. The mind is pressured to think and think and I believe that if you are in darkness or under pressure you are undergoing a major transformation for the good.

Lastly, the flooding of ideas is something I can't control. I have around ten drafts of the stories I want to write. The major problem that arises with them is that I am not about to focus on my current work. My brain compels me to write at least one chapter of them. There isn't much I have been able to do to avoid it. But the next day after making the draft, I think clearly and ask myself "Will I be able to write a good book from this idea?" and "Is this idea overused?". If my answers are negative, I delete the draft. Because it is better to have a few good works than many 'not too good' works.

Q: Do you take any inspiration from a published author? If so, in what sense have they inspired you?

A: For this answer, we need to delve into my favorite authors (yes, not author but authors). My favorite authors are dreamcatchermahumsheikh, and fayesfigment.

They all are amazing authors and all have inspired me in one way or the other. dreamcatcher is someone I admire for her dedication. I have been following her since I read her first book, and she is so consistent. She has a fixed schedule and not even once have I seen her skip an update. She inspires me to write continuously and write more.

mahumsheikh is the one who has stepped out from the world of cliche. I have adored her book " The Man She Betrayed" because that's something not too cliche. I wouldn't have imagined that in a world of many billionaire books, there is a book so raw and real. The characters aren't perfect angels nor are they tainted and broken people, rather they are humane. That's what I like to culminate in my book. I try to enhance my character's flaws rather than showing them completely perfect.

Last but not least fayesfigment's book "Beyond His Green Eyes" is the book I have read a million times (exaggeration) and I cannot get over it. I mean the descriptions are so good that even after reading it so many times, I still cry and feel happy. Since my descriptions are not yet good, I try to learn how she manages to put the emotions so perfectly in her book. Because that's what I am not good at.
