About the Author

Q: Do you plan out your stories?

A: Yes. My father told me that the greatest ideas take place on paper first and funny enough he told me that when I first shared my ideas for a fanfiction with him. Some authors may have their own preferred methods for writing but I really value planning every aspect of the story out, from character details to the setting of a chapter etc.

Q: Where do you find inspiration for writing?

A: My inspiration originates from contemporary issues. I believe that if I write about issues that occur in my life/ life in general, it will have more depth and meaning because I'll have a lot to say about a topic that I have deep feelings for.

Q: Do you have plans for more stories?

A: I originally had plans for a trilogy. I hope to write a sequel to my first book once I have completed it.

Q: Do you have any reading recommendations on Wattpad?

A: I didn't complete the book as yet but a great book that I have been keeping up with from time to time is currently being written by imaanwrites_ entitled 'The Adversities of Falling'. I think it is a great coming of age, college romance themed book.

Q: Why do you write?

A: In a nutshell; it's my coping mechanism. I live in a country that is extremely dangerous for young girls. As a teenager I couldn't go out with my friends as often as I wanted to because my parents were always worried about dangerous situations that I could possibly end up in. I used writing as a way to 'escape'. It was a way of expressing my ongoing experience in a more sugar-coated way.

Q: Is 'Just a teenage dream' your first attempt at writing?

A: No. Just a teenage dream is a book that went through numerous changes. The title changed about 4 times. It started off as 'Caged'. The characters were different, and the plot wasn't really thought out. I started publishing that book in 2017 then took a 4-year break from Wattpad and only decided to pick up my old hobby during lockdown. I started to develop a better idea for the book and was determined to complete the first one. After creating a well-rounded book, I read the entire book from start to finish then realized that it lacked some depth. I believe that it's going to take longer to create a story that I desire to share, however I am still determined to give the full story that contains drama and slow burns and all elements that will move my audience.

Q: What impact did Wattpad have on you?

A: Wattpad guided me to my career path. When people bring up the word 'Wattpad', it's usually associated with the understanding that most Wattpad books make it onto the 'big screen'. Always felt that my writing was so easy to envision, and I enjoyed having the power to 'teleport' myself to these different places and meeting different people with just my imagination. With further research, I managed to convince myself that scriptwriting was something that I want to do for as long as I can. I explained this to my parents, and they agreed to send me to a university where I could learn more about the world of film and production. I hope that I could one day take my trilogy to the silver screen even if I have to do it all on my own.
