Chapter 9: What had happened

It was just another day in the Raheja-Garewal house where Piyush was sitting on the dining table and Kashish was serving him food when Sujal came to the dining table. He came and sat down to eat. Veena came to serve him and when she was giving him some rotis, Piyush spoke up.

Piyush: Sujal, kitni himmat hai ja tum me! Kal raat ko meri wife ko call karke usse tang karne ke baad bhi itne shaanti se uske aur uske pati ke samne aakar khana khaa rahe ho! Wah re wah!

Sujal: Kya bakwas kar rahe ho tum Piyush! Maine aisa kuch nahi kiya! Jab se tum uss accident se theek ho kar aaye ho, tab se pata nahi kaise kaise ilzaam laga rahe ho mere upar! Maine kuch bhi nahi kiya hai!

Yes, the accident that Sujal is talking about is the same accident in which, in the series, Piyush dies in. But in this story, he was successfully saved by Sujal.

Yesterday night, Kashish had received a phone call and the voice on the other side, the caller's voice was that of Sujal, even Piyush had heard it!

Piyush: Kitna jhoot bolte ho tum! Kyu aise ban gaye?Kab aise ban gaye? Pata nahi par ha Sujal, yeh baat yaad rakhlo, sudhar jaao nahi toh aanjam theek nahi hoga! Stop calling someone's wife in the middle of the night!

Saying this Piyush stood up from his seat and went for his office. Veena placed Sujal's food on his plate and went away. Kashish was leaving when Sujal held her from her hand and stopped her.

Sujal: Kashish, kya hai yeh sab? Maine kab call kiya tumhe?! Mai jitna bhi chahu humse dooor hone ki tum mujhe utna hi aapne paas kyu kheech ne ki koshish karti rehti ho? Maine kab call kiya tumhe zara yeh batana mujhe!?

She jerked her hand off from Sujal's grip.

Kashish: Sujal, tum kitna jhoot bolte ho?! Kal raat ko tumne mujhe phone kiya tha, 12:30 pm ke aas paas, aur saboot chahiye toh yeh lo, recording hai phone call ki meri paas! Lo! Sunno!

Sujal played the audio clip and even he was shocked to hear his voice! But he very well knew he hadn't called her as he had promised his mother never to bother Kashish amd Piyush again!

Kashish: Ab? Ab kya bolna hai tumhe Sujal?

Sujal: no Kashish! Maine call nahi kiya tha! Mera call list check karlo!

Kashish: ussme kya hai? Tum delete bhi toh kar sakte ho!!

Sujal: Please Kashish! Why would I call you when I'm trying to get away from you! Anyways, I have to go!

With this Sujal left. Kashish kept on looking at Sujal, hatred in her eyes. She said in her own mind,

Kashish: Sujal, abhi tak tumne meri air Piyush ke zindagi ke sath bohot khel khele hai, ab meri baari! Tumne jaan-booch kar Piyush ke breaks fail kiye the, aur jab tumne dekha ki aas paas ke saare log dekh rahe hai, tab tumhe zabardasti jaana pada aur kismet se Piyush bach gaye! Nahi toh.. nahi toh tumhare plan kamiyaab ho jata Piyush ko apne raaste se hatane ka..ab tumhari baari hai sab kuch sehne ki aur meri baari hai tumhe tadpane ki, tumhari zindagi me dakhal dene ki!

For 4 months, Kashish used to occasionally blame Sujal, sometimes in front of the entire family and sometimes only in front of Piyush or his mother. Sujal was slowly getting fed up of all these accusations on him, in fact he had now slowly started to question himself whenever he used to see Kashish as to what he liked in her!

It was one of those days, or nights shall I say.

There was no one at home except Kashish. All others had gone out of the house for a small dinner party. Sujal had returned home from Delhi (He had gone to Delhi for some business deal which was finalized) amd found that Kashish was sitting there in a saree. He entered and immediately called for his mother.
