Rise 52
Supreme Goddess Dawn

Grief is not sadness, it’s love. It’s the love we wanted to give, but no longer can.”
-EnvoyofDeath by D. Snow

Wala pang Ten Great Gods.

“Why are they here?”
“They all seem very strong. Are they here to cause trouble for the Boss and the Lady Boss?”
“They shouldn’t show violence to the Little Boss. He’s just a kid.”
“If a fight broke out, I’ll risk my life to take the Little Boss to safety!”
“Me too!”
“But will the Boss and the Lady Boss be okay?”
“I’m not that worried for the Lady Boss, she’s strong enough to defend herself. I’m more worried about the Boss, he’s a weakling who hides behind his wife.”
“I agree, I’m afraid that the Boss might die from a single punch. These people are super strong after all!”
“Should w-we help?”
“Are you insane?”
“I want to help but I don’t want to die yet.”
“Let’s all pray for the Boss spirit to rest in peace.”
“Who are we going to pray to? Aren’t we gods?”
“I don’t know bro, ask the author.”
“Let’s just hope that the Boss can rest in peace after leaving behind a gorgeous wife and an adorable son.”
“Rest in peace Boss.”

“I’m still alive!” reklamo ni Kuro na abalang nagluluto

Dawn who heard all of these decided to ignore everyone.

“Are you here as customers?” kalmadong tanong nya sa walong diyos na awkward na nakatayo sa labas.

“Then come on in and have a seat.” Dawn

“Wala man lang drama o aksyon.”
“Sinong niloko nila? Ano to fieldtrip ng pinakamalalakas na diyos? Kalokohan.”
“Shhh! Baka marinig ka nila.”

“Tsk. This isn’t what we came here for.” She talked big and said that she’ll teach Dawn and Kuro a lesson. She can’t back down now!

“I don’t believe that you’re as strong as the rumours says. Fight me!”

Parepareho sila ng naiiisip: “This idiot must be seeking death!”

Of course I know!”

“Then you probably already know that it explains why some people appear bright until they speak.”

“W-what? Are you insulting me?”

“Do I really have to spell it out for you?” Dawn

“Are you saying I’m stupid?!”

“Obviously.” Dawn

“And what makes you say that?”

“Some of your friends are acquainted with me. They must have warned you about me right? But despite that, here you are, seeking death.” Dawn

“.... I.. I don’t care! You think you’re so strong? I don’t think so! You’re just saying that because you are scared of me!”

Dawn smirked, “Maliitin mo pa ko. This is going to be fun.”

For some reason, the goddess of water felt scared.

Dawn

“We’re here to ask for your help.” Tugon ng Diyos ng Yelo

“Sure, I’ll help you out... the same way you came in.” Dawn answered flatly as she pointed towards the door.

“.......”

“Please hear us out first.” Goddess of Sound

“I’am Levitius, and I’am the Supreme God. We are actually here to show our sincerity Dawn and Kuro.”

“We heard about you and your legends. We humbly invites you to join us in our quest of uniting all of Elysium.” Levitius

She’s looking down on everyone. “From what I understand, the Council of Gods plans to govern the land of gods, correct?”

“Y-yes.”

“I already said to those people that you sent before that I’ll join but I have a few conditions.” Dawn

“You want to be the Supreme God.”

“Yes.” Dawn

“The Supreme God is the strongest, he is the one who makes the decisions for the Council! What makes you think that you are qualified for the job?” tanong ng diyosa ng tubig

“I’m confident of my skills. Besides, I’m the strongest one here.” Dawn said casually

Dawn

“Lady Dawn, I can’t just give you my seat. But please do consider to join us. This is not just about uniting Elysium. There is a bigger threat out there.” Levitius

“The Ancients right?” kalmadong tugon ni Dawn

The eight were taken aback. How did she know?

“Like I said, I will join if you let me become the Supreme God. If you want us to win, I have to be the one to lead everyone.” Dawn

“B-but I can’t just step down.” Levitius

“Is your position as leader more important than your life?” Dawn

Goddess of Sound

“What for?” Dawn

“You can’t just be the Supreme God without proving your self! For sure hindi ka naman malakas.” Diyosa ng Tubig

“If you want proof, sana sinabi nyo agad.”

“Anong gagawin mo?” tanong nila

Ngumiti si Dawn.

Hindi nila nagustuhan ang ngiting yun. Nasa panganib sila!

***

“Pero all this time akala ko talaga mahina si Boss!”

“Ano?!”

“Are you unhappy with how things are right now?” tanong ng isang tinig at makikita si Dawn na kalmadong umiinom ng tsaa.

“I will miss this tiring but peaceful days.” Kuro

“Me too.” Sang-ayon ni Dawn

But they have no choice but to say goodbye to this peaceful life. The enemies are on the move already.

“We have to go to war soon. I’m worried about Ainsley.” Buntong hininga ni Dawn.

“Ainsley is still a kid, his small fist might look really adorable but if he were to hit someone, they might end up with broken ribs or a few broken bones. Besides, we will leave him in the care of our most loyal people.” Kuro reassured her

I will definitely miss our son.” Dawn

“Mama, Papa... Are you really going somewhere far without Ainsley?” A small voice caught their attention.

Nagkatingin sina Dawn at Kuro.

“I-it’s okay.. Ainsley is a big boy now. I w-wont be sad. I will wait for you to come home.” Ainsley said with a small voice

Dawn pick him up and carried him in her arms, “Our baby is such a big boy now.” She praised, but to be honest, she don’t want to leave him on his own.

“I will wait for Mama and Papa.” Ainsley reassured them.

“Then we will come back to see you as soon as we can.” Dawn

“Promise?” Ainsley asked with hopeful eyes

“Promise.” Dawn

“We will hurry back home.” Kuro added as he embraced the two.

Ainsley smiled happily, “Then Ainsley will wait obediently. You promised, so Mama and Papa must come home soon okay?”

The two smiled back, “Okay, we promise.”

Of course, the war lasted longer than expected.

And both Kuro and Dawn never came back.

But Ainsley never stop waiting.

Because they made a promise.

So he waited.

For hundreds of years.

***

Seeing the two people he misses the most made Ainsley smile sadly.

Arius is busy trying to appease Leona’s irritation about the fact that he forgot about her.

All the guests of the banquet are left speechless.

There’s a lot of explosive news tonight.

The god Solstice is stepping down from his position.

There is a new Goddess of Light.

Her name is Dawn, just like the strongest goddess from the legends.

She beat up and defeated the current Supreme God Arius with a simple swing of a folding chair.

And the most shocking news above all is the fact that the most revered and respected God of Darkness is on his knees begging for forgiveness.

Everyone is wondering, where’s his pride as a man?!

Pride? What’s that? If it means losing his beloved wifey, then pride can move aside!

Arius clearly knew his priority well.

“Get up, it’s not your fault. It’s probably Castiel who mess with your memories.” Leona

“The Demon Prince? How can that weakling defeat me?” Arius

“You keep underestimating him so you ended up like that.” Leona

Arius couldn’t argue. He’s at fault so what else could he say?

“By the way, where is he?” Leona

“Who are you talking about, wifey?”

“Ainsley.” Leona

“Ainsley? The god of lightning?” Arius

“Yes. My past self shared her memories about him. Where is he?” Leona

Arius is confused but he immediately spotted Ainsley in the crowd.

Leona followed his gaze and saw a child no older than twelve.

“How old is he?” Leona asked curiously

“No one knows.” Arius answered honestly.

Ainsley’s eyes widen when Arius and Leona started to walk towards his direction.

“Mam--- H-hello.” Ainsley greeted them awkwardly when the two stood in front of him. He’s not sure how to react. Arius couldn’t remember him. So Leona is probably the same.

“Isn’t he cute?” Leona commented with a bright smile.

“What are you talking about, wifey? How is this old fossil cute? This little fella is even older than old man Solstice!” Arius complained.

“He’s our son.” Leona

“He’s our son so what—Wait.. What?” Arius

“He’s our son.” Leona repeated her words slowly to make him understand.

“........” Arius

Leona smiled at Ainsley, “Sorry for making you wait for so long, we are back little angel, as promised.”

“Mama.....” Ainsley burst into tears

He waited for so long.

He believed in that simple promised that his parents made that night.

He never stop waiting.

He witness how the world changed.

He saw how seas turn into desserts.

And witness how a small sprout turn into a majestic tree.

He grew numb to the changing seasons.

Everyone he knew of, left this world one by one.

He was left all alone.

But he never stop waiting.

They made a promise.

And now they’re finally home.

A/N:  Hello lovely people, it’s been a while. Medyo nobela itong author’s note ko hehe.
Una sa lahat, sorry for going MIA again. Busy lang talaga sa life huhuhu. I made an announcement last June to let everyone know that I won't be able to update on Rise of Dawn for a while. I guess most of you haven’t seen it. Sorry na.
Around June I lost the file of Rise of Dawn, that includes the chapter I was working on at that time. I also lost all my notes and several short scenes for future chapters that I wrote months ago, as well as the epilogue that I wrote last year. I thought I saved a back up but when I checked, there's none. I was very upset so I needed some time to recover. At the end of the day, it was still my fault so I apologize, alam kong naghihintay kayo ng update.
Anyway, salamat sa matiyagang paghihintay.
Your encouraging words keeps me going when I'm starting to forget the joy of writing. You guys makes me remember why I love sharing my crazy ideas to everyone.
I hope you will remain patient with me. I'm still a work in progress, I'm still learning and I’m still trying to improve my writing. I hope you'll stick around until the end. I love you all~

xoxo
