Lexie's pov

"You're insane if you think for one second I would allow anyone to bring harm to the child I'm carrying, least of all one of my own brothers. How could you even suggest such a thing, Tony? You disgust me. I can't even believe those words came out of your mouth." I'm honestly appalled, no horrified is more like it.

"Alexandra, I'm simply trying to protect you. I don't think you understand what needs to be done to keep our family safe but I do, and the first order of business is offing your fiance. The second is aborting his bastard child."

"Are you even hearing yourself speak right now, Fratello (Brother)? That bastard child is my child and your niece or nephew. You're talking about murdering the man I love and an innocent fetus. To protect whom? Yourself? Your precious reputation? The Dimerra name? My fiance and this baby I'm carrying are no threat to you. You're sick. You know that?"

"You're wrong about your fiance, Lexie," my little brother EJ chimed in. "He most definitely poses a threat to Tony, myself, and Claire. I'm not so sure he won't kill you either. I mean, he'll wait until after the baby's born so he has an heir to start rebuilding their empire, but he'll have no use for you then, unless of course he wants to breed you again but that's unlikely. I'd place my bet on the fact the hit will most likely be ordered while you're still in the hospital in postpartum recovery."

"He would never do that. He loves me and this baby, and we're going to get married and start our life together."

"You're delusional, Princess. I guarantee once that baby's born, you'll be dead." EJ gave me a smug pompous grin as he sipped his Limoncello.

"Elliot James is right, Alexandra, that's why you need to call off the wedding and abort this pregnancy."

I stood up angrily and threw my napkin down.

"This conversation is over. I'm marrying Luciano and I'm carrying this pregnancy to term. My husband and I will raise this baby together as a family. We don't need your permission, Brother."

"I won't allow you to leave this mansion, Alexandra. I can't protect you if you do and I promised Father I would keep you safe. I'll be damned if you're going to make me break that promise," Tony yelled after me, as I stomped off.

Tony's pov

"We need to off him very soon, Tony, before our head-in-the-clouds half-sister does something stupid, like run away with the asshole and get herself killed," my little brother stated anxiously.

"That's still only half the battle, EJ. We both know when that baby grows up and finds out about what happened to his or her father and his family, he or she will seek revenge on me, you, Claire, and anyone else close to us."

"I agree the little bastard needs to be offed before it's even born, but how can we convince our moronic sister that it's in her best interests to terminate this pregnancy?"

"That's the million dollar question, Brother. Now that Lexie's informed Claire about her pregnancy, our job has become ten times harder. How the Hell can I break my daughter's heart by killing her baby cousin? I won't be the one to disappoint her. She's my whole world, EJ."

"You do realize Alexandra feels exactly the same way about the little bastard percolating in her uterus. Don't you?"

"Yes, EJ. Do you honestly think it's easy for me to talk so seriously about killing my own niece or nephew? I don't want to do this but I have to. Father sacrificed his life because of those Nardello assholes. I cannot let any of them survive. It would be an insult to his legacy to allow even one of them to walk this earth and share the air we breathe."
