I feel someone jump on my back, almost sending me to the ground in the cafeteria. To no ones surprise it was Aurélien holding his phone out for me to see.
It was one of Davina's new Instagram posts captioned bf🔛🔝. Not wanting to give Aurélien and the rest of the team any satisfaction, I just shrug.
"What? You're not even the slightest bit upset?"
"Why would I be?" I lie.
Thankfully I was annoying enough for him to walk away defeated.
I'll be honest, her last post made me rethink my decision of sending her and apology, though I was really tempted to send it anyway thinking it was just a night out with someone random but after seeing the new picture, I was even more held back partly because I didn't want it to be a pity apology and also because I was maybe slightly jealous.
I didn't know why though because our so-called friendship wasn't something to be talking greatly about but seeing her being happy for once hit me hard.
I know it makes me sound like a terrible person but I couldn't describe the feeling I felt seeing that photo of his arms wrapped around her. Maybe it was because when she was around me, she never smiled or laughed or did anything that looked remotely fun, but then with him or even other people she seemed happy.
That night when I got home, I checked my Instagram, seeing many reposts of her photo and even found her new boyfriend's account. I'll admit he wasn't terrible looking and she seemed happy but I still felt weird about it.
After a while I decided to shrug it off, hoping to forget about it in the morning. What I didn't take into consideration though was the night that followed.
For some odd reason I couldn't get her out of my head. It was frustrating really, how long it took for me to finally fall asleep, but when I did, my mind didn't stop seeing her either.
