CHAPTER TWO

The Son Family

"I'm glad that you came back alive..." King Tae Shin said to General Tae Jin. General Son Tae Jin is the chief of Military defense of the Royal family. He's incharge for defending their land in war and in enemies. With his two sons Commander Son Il Woo and Commander Son Joo Meok, they always won in every battle that they faced. That's why the Royal Family especially King Tae Shin are trusted the Son Family the most.

"I'm also happy to see you Your Majesty..." General Son said and make a bow to the King and Queen. "Please have some rest and join us for dinner. I told them to prepare a banquet for you and your sons and also for celebration to our victory..." King Tae Shin said. "Yes, Your Majesty... Thank you for the banquet..." General Son said. "I'm sorry to interrupt your conversation, Your Majesty... But may I ask a request to General Son?" Queen Han Soo said. King Tae Shin look at his queen. "Yes, ofcourse my Queen... What is it?" King Tae Shin said. General Son wait for the queen's request. "General Son, can you bring your only daughter to the banquet dinner later?" Queen Han Soo said. General Son startled on what the queen said. This is the first time that they want to see his only daughter. "General Son?..." King Tae Shin called when General Son didn't answer. "Uhm... I'm sorry If may I ask why you want my daughter to join the banquet dinner?" General Son said. The queen smile before she speak. "You don't need to worry, General Son... The Queen Dowager want to meet and see your daughter in person." Queen Han Soo said. "She told me that she heard positive rumors about her. And just like the Queen Dowager, I'm also curious about your daughter." Queen Han Soo said.  General Son didn't speak. "I think this is the better time to meet your daughter, General Son. We've been a long time friend and because I couldn't went outside the palace, I'll never had a chance to meet your daughter." King Tae Shin said. General Son is silently listening to what the King's said. "Like them, I'm also curious about her... It seems like she's a good and lovely person that's why the Queen Dowager wants to meet her." The King added. General Son trust the Royal family but he didn't want to involve his daughter at the palace or in politics. He wanted a normal and happy life for his daughter, Eon Jin. "Like a humble servant of yours, Your Majesty.... I accepted your request. I'll promise to bring my daughter tonight." General Son said.

No one will dare to reject the King and Queen's request that's why whether he like it or not, he will follow what the King told him.

"Eon Jin!" Il Woo called when he saw his sister seated under the tree. Eon Jin look at them as she smile when she saw her two brothers standing infront of their wooden gate. "Il Woo Oppa! Joo Meok Oppa!" Eon Jin said as she run fast towards to them. "I'm so happy to see you again and you both alive and safe..." Eon Jin said with her teary eyes. Il Woo and Joo Meok smile.  "Anyway, where's Abeoji?" She asked and got a little bit worried when she noticed that her father is not with them. "Don't worry... Abeoji is okay just like us. He's on the palace to greet the Royal family." Joo Meok said. Eon Jin released a breath of relief. "Joo Meok Oppa, while you're away... I learned some basic martial arts skills that you taught me... You wanna see it?" Eon Jin said. Joo Meok make a hand signal to keep her quite. "Yah! Abeoji told you not to teach her martial arts. She's a girl and what if she will injured while doing it? Yah! Joo Meok!" Il Woo scold his brother. Eon Jin bite her lips. Jook Meok scratch his head, "Hyung, she also need to learn it for self defense... She's a big girl now..." Joo Meok said. "Yes, Jook Meok Oppa is right... Il Woo Oppa, can you keep it a secret from Abeoji? Huh? Joo Meok Oppa will be scolded because of me, I'm the one who ask him to teach me." Eon Jin said. Il Woo release a deep sigh while looking at his siblings. "I will but promise me not to learn martial arts again or anything that can hurt you, will you?" Il Woo said. Eon Jin look at to her older brother then to Joo Meok. "Arasso..." Eon Jin said with her sad face.

Tae Pyung is at the west palace seated at the arch while looking at the pond. He look at the jade comb with the initial of S that engraved on it. He smile while remembering how Lady Sora save and help him to healed his wound from the attack of wild animals in the forest. He got lost on the forest when he was a child.

Flashback

"Hyung!" Little Tae Pyung shouted when he didn't find his older brother. He was crying desperately because of worries and fears that no one will find him. He went to the forest with his brother Crown Prince Tae Hyun. Because of the curiosity he didn't notice that he went too far as he keep running while chasing the firefly.

"Abeoji... Eomma..." Tae Pyung cried. He stop from shouting when he heard some movement from the dark side of the forest. "Hyung? Chief Eunuch Chi Su?" He said. He's eyes widen as he was so startled when he saw a wild boar.

"Ahhhhh!!!!!" He shouted and he start running when the wild boar chase him. He keep running and running for him to get away from the wild boar. "Hyung! Help me!!!" Tae Pyung cried. Because of fear and tears in his eyes he didn't notice the stone on his way and he step on it. His body  immediately fall on the ground and keep rolling and bumping on the trees until he fall on a part of the cliff. Tae Pyung passed out because of that.

An hour has been passed when Tae Pyung gain his consciousness. He slowly open his eyes when he heard a female voice, "You awake! Are you okay?" The little girl said. Tae Pyung look at her, "Who are you? Where am I" He asked. The little girl look at the surrounding and return her gazed on him. Tae Pyung manage to sit up. "Who are you?" He asked again. "I'm Sora... Min Sora..." She said. "You're the one who save me?" Tae Pyung said. The girl didn't speak and look at the surrounding. "Yes..."She said.

End of Flashback

'That's the day that I couldn't forget...'  In Tae Pyung's mind. His thought interrupted when Chief Eunuch Chi Su called him, "Your Highness, His Majesty wants you to get prepared for the banquet dinner tonight." Chi Su said. Tae Pyung look at him. "A Banquet dinner?" He said. "Yes, Your Highness... It's for the victory of Silla and for General Son and his soldiers." Chi Su said. Tae Pyung release a deep sigh. "General Son..." He said as he smirked. His uncle Prince Yu Shin always telling him that don't trust the Sons especially General Son because he only wants  to make the royal family trust him to gain some wealth and power from them. And he didn't let that to happen, in Tae Pyung's thought.

"Why you let our daughter be on the banquet?" Cheon Myeong said to his husband Tae Jin. "We want a normal life for her. I don't want her to get involved to the palace..." She added. General Son look at her. "Just like you, I also want to have her a normal life. Especially she inherit your mother's gift." General Son said. "It will be dangerous for her if someone will know about her gift." He added. "Then don't bring her to that place... Tae Jin, I know you trust the King so much and I do trust him too. But what about the other people inside the palace?" Cheon Myeong said. General Son didn't speak. "Even If I don't want to bring her but I'm only a mere servant of the King and you also know that no one can reject the King's request..." General Son said. Cheon Myeong let out deep sigh because of worries and General Son heard it.
