6. "Adeline?"

"Matt?"

"Adeline what's going on?" I start panicking again and I can't help but start backing away from Matt as he gets closer. My breathing quickens again and the world feels like it's ending. "hey hey hey Adeline it's ok. I'm here" "no no no you can't be here right now" I somehow manage to say to the brown haired boy.

Fear fills his eyes as he looks at me still keeping the distance between us. "what do you mean I can't be here?" "Matt." I whisper as I collapse to the floor. "ADELINE!?!" I hear as my head slowly falls to the ground, but never quite hit the ground.

Suddenly I'm on a island. Cold, calm and peaceful. "How did I get here?" I cautiously look around, seeing sand and palm trees. It's oddly peaceful, I don't like this. I walk around as I see all of my past relationships standing in front of me, staring at me with a dead look in their eyes.

Why are they here? Why am I here? I hate this, I don't know how I got here. "You are worthless Adeline" I hear them all say. What the hell is happening? "You will never be loved" I turn and bolt away from them. I hate this, I wanna go home. How do I get out of here?

Wait. Matt, where's Matt?

Matt's POV

"Matt." I hear Adeline quietly say before she falls to the ground. "ADELINE!?!" I say as I watch in fear. It's like the world slowed down. I ran over to her and catch her head before it hits the ground. Holy shit, what do I do? I've never experienced this before. I try to get into a comfortable position so I can make sure she's ok. Her head is laying on my lap and I lean towards her to make sure she's breathing. She is thankfully, I think she fainted, but why?

My phone is right next to me, I pick up while still making sure that Adeline is ok. I don't even know what do to? I think I should call Ellie. Shit, it's 2am in Tennessee right now. I don't know what to do. Me and Adeline aren't close like that. She needs Ellie right now, and I know that. Im the only option she has right now.

I started talking to her just hoping that she could hear me and wake up.

Adeline's POV

I start running through this desert, I'm so scared. I need to find a way to leave. I look behind me and see all of them running after me screaming "You're worthless, no one will ever love you!" I start crying as they close the gap between us. "Hey Adeline, I'm here. It's ok, your ok. You're safe in your home. Come back to me please."

It's Matt, I sigh as I finally stop running and see everyone disappears. I jolt awake as I feel the cold hitting my body. I'm home, I'm back. "Adeline!" Matt says as he pulled me into a hug. "Hi Matthew" I said exhausted and barely returning the hug.
