Chapter 190: Liked Him More With Every Glance

The Lee family wasn’t as rich as it was 20 years ago, but they could afford to live decently. However, they were no longer considered an elite family. Instead, they were more like an ordinary wealthy family.

Sehun booked a car online and it was going to pick them up at the airport exit.

Since the car had yet to arrive, the three of them went over to the exit to wait for it.

As they walked towards the exit, two silhouettes suddenly came over from the door.

It was a man and a woman. The man was tall and upright while the lady was slim and graceful. Both of them were wearing masks, but the woman was wearing a cap as well.

Since it was normal to wear a mask these days, no one took any notice. However, Dong-wook and So-yeon promptly recognized them and saw that it was Lisa and Jennie.

They had not seen Lisa in years, and the last time they saw Jennie was two years ago.

Since everyone in the family kept thinking about Jennie, it was only natural for them to recognize her right away.

For a moment, no one dared to speak or even say hello to each other.

Jennie was an artist now. Since she showed up wearing a mask and cap, she must be avoiding her fans.

She probably had something important to do since she showed up at this hour at the airport.

They felt sorry that Jennie had to work so hard and proud that she finally severed ties with Kai and focused on herself. Despite the thoughts flowing through their minds, no one dared to approach her. Just seeing her was enough for now. They had plenty of opportunities to see each other in the future.

So-yeon’s eyes became a little teary.
Jennie stopped briefly and headed straight towards them as they pondered.

Before Dong-wook and So-yeon realized what was going on, Jennie had already walked up in front of them. Jennie looked at them with her eyes gleaming.

Jennie reached her hand out and held So-yeon’s arm as she said softly in a sincere tone, “Mom.”

So-yeon felt as though she was dreaming and was unable to react. For a moment, she thought that she was still on the flight sleeping.

Just as she was about to scrutinize Jennie, she bent over and said to Dong-wook, “Dad.”

A confused look emerged on Dong-wook’s face.

Jennie called Sehun, “Big Bro.”

Even though Sehun was unable to see her face, he was able to sense that she was smiling by the look in her eyes.

Now was not the place to speak, so Jennie pushed Dong-wook’s wheelchair out of the airport as she said, “Lisa came with me to pick you up. His car is right over there. We can talk after getting into the car.”

This felt absolutely surreal to them and it felt as though they were walking in the air.

So-yeon bit the tip of her tongue and found that it hurt, so she was not dreaming. This was all shockingly real!

Jennie came to pick them up personally!

They never dreamt that Jennie would ever pick them up from the airport. Each time they tried to see her, she refused to meet them!

Although they were already acquainted with Lisa, Jennie introduced him after getting into the car.

On this rare occasion, Lisa’s eyes looked warm and clearly felt happy.

The Lee and Manoban clans were family friends. However, ever since a major incident, the Lee family’s business fell into decline. After Dong-wook got into a traffic accident, things only became worse for the family.

Dong-wook knew Lisa slightly better than average and knew his personality well, so Dong-wook couldn’t help finding it unbelievable when the famous man quietly drove them home.

Even though the Lee and Manoban families had agreed to marry Lisa and Jennie, no one could object if the Manoban family decided to change their minds about it considering the state the Lee family was in.

Hence, Dong-wook never bore hope that Lisa would stick to the agreement.

He instinctively turned to look at So-yeon.

So-yeon felt inexplicably worried after the initial joy.

Dong-wook knew exactly what she was thinking since they were married. These days, a lot of children sever ties with their families after coming of age if they did not get along with their families.

Since Jennie was acting very abnormally, Dong-wook and So-yeon were afraid she was planning to sever ties with them.

Just thinking about it made them feel terribly apprehensive.

The Lee residence was a somewhat old villa located in a serene environment. Although it was only average-sized, they had the entire place for themselves.

After they entered the villa, Dong-wook and So-yeon took a seat while Sehun went out to buy some milk tea. The atmosphere in the villa quickly felt intense.

“Jennie…” So-yeon did not know what to say.

“Mom.” Jennie thought about how much her parents loved her and how she rejected them in her past life and choked as she spoke.

Despite So-yeon’s suspicions, she could tell Jennie meant it about reconnecting with them, so she reached her hand out and embraced Jennie. “My baby girl.”

The two of them felt so moved that their eyes became teary. They finally composed themselves a long while later.

Lisa gave Jennie a piece of tissue, handed So-yeon a piece as well before he gave Jennie more.

“Jennie, are you and Lisa…” asked So-yeon. She simply had to ask.

“Mom and Dad, I am married to Lisa,” replied Jennie in a solemn tone.

Everyone was blown away by the news. They did not object to the marriage, but everyone knew how she felt about Lisa. Also, she used to be in love with Kai.

Now that Jennie was able to accept her marriage with Lisa, everyone was happy for her. This meant she was now over Kai and this made her even closer to the Lee family.

Lisa stood bolt upright as everyone looked at him.

It felt as though he was a soldier waiting for his superiors to inspect him.

Despite Lisa’s cool appearance, he felt absolutely nervous inside. Jennie had told her family right away that they were married and didn’t hide the truth about it.

Lisa thought Jennie might not want to tell people they were married. He used to think that Jennie only married him to survive, but Jennie clearly took their marriage seriously from the looks of it. Hence, Lisa felt even more serious than Dong-wook, So-yeon, and Sehun.

He felt as though he was floating on the ocean with no safe harbor until Jennie held his hand with her soft hand making him feel as though he was back on solid ground.

Dong-wook and So-yeon liked their son-in-law more with every glance and couldn’t stop looking at him.

“Mom, Dad, are you planning to stay for good this time?” asked Jennie.

A look of regret appeared on Dong-wook’s face when he heard what she asked.
