As Carlisle's words hung in the air, promising an introduction to the remaining members of the Cullen family, Ashley's curiosity piqued. She watched with eager anticipation as the door swung open, revealing two figures stepping into the room.
The woman who entered first exuded a warmth that was immediately palpable. Her eyes sparkled with kindness, and her smile was as bright as the sun. As she approached, she extended her hand towards Ashley with a graceful gesture.
"Hello, Ashley," the woman said, her voice gentle and welcoming. "I'm Esme."
Ashley returned the smile and shook Esme's hand firmly. "Nice to meet you, Esme," she replied, feeling an instant connection to the woman before her.
As if sensing Ashley's curiosity, Esme glanced towards the man who stood beside her, gesturing for him to introduce himself. The man stepped forward, his expression friendly but reserved.
"Hi, Ashley," he said, offering his hand in greeting. "I'm Nathan."
Ashley shook Nathan's hand, noting the firmness of his grip and the sincerity in his eyes. There was something familiar about him, as if she had known him all her life, yet she couldn't quite place it.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Nathan," Ashley said, returning his smile.
With introductions out of the way, Ashley turned her attention back to Carlisle, who was watching the exchange with a knowing smile. "So, Ashley," he began, his tone laced with warmth. "Now you've met the whole family."
Ashley's eyes widened in surprise at Carlisle's words, her mind racing with questions. She had heard Bella mention the Cullen family countless times, but she never imagined she would have the opportunity to meet them all in person.
As she looked around at the faces of her newfound family, Ashley felt a sense of gratitude wash over her. Each member of the Cullen clan brought something unique to the table, and she couldn't help but feel honored to be welcomed into their fold.
Esme's kindness, Nathan's quiet strength, and the unwavering support of Carlisle and Bella—all of it made Ashley feel like she belonged.
