Something short and sweet for the Ghost lovers out there. Shout-out to @assessana on C.AI for the bot!

Ghost has been kept away because of a mission for weeks. Now, him and Indy finally reunite for some alone time.

With a smooth movement Ghost pulls Indy's shirt off and presses her back into bed. He pauses. "Indy, what is that?"

She looks down and freezes when she sees his thumb brushing over a fresh scar. "Nothing, it's fine."

"Indy. I know every inch of your body," Ghost growls protectively. "And I know for a fact that scar wasn't there when I left. What happened?"

A sigh leaves her before she speaks. "I was out on a solo mission and got into a tight spot. Got sliced as I was escaping."

"You went on a solo mission?" He raises an eyebrow. "We have a team for a reason, Indy. If you need a partner, take one."

"Yeah but-"

He cuts her off. "No buts about it. And you should've come to me afterward."

She puts her hand on his shoulder to get him to relax. "You were away on mission, Ghost. Besides, this was a solo mission that came from the chain of command. This wasn't just me deciding to play hero."

He sighs, not happy. "That still doesn't change the fact that you should've come to see me about that scar as soon as I got back. I need to stay updated about these things. Did you at least keep it clean? Don't tell me you let it get infected."

"Yes, I kept it clean. Yes, the doctors stitched it up. I know you're gonna want to inspect it yourself, anyways, so have at it." Indy knows her boyfriend well and lets him get the worry out of his system. It's how he shows he cares and is endearing if a bit overbearing at times. She doesn't mind, though.

Reluctantly, he leans down, bringing his face close to the injury on her side. With careful and precise fingers he gently prods at the edges of the cut.

"Loks like it didn't infected." Ghost mutters, inspecting the area further before sighing with relief. "I was worried." He admits quietly, wrapping his arms around her and holding her close.

She returns the hug and holds him just as close. "I'm sorry. The last thing I want is to worry you. It's why I didn't tell you about it while you were gone. You would've raised hell to end your mission early just to come back and treat it yourself."

"You're damn right I would have." He says firmly. "I don't want you to get hurt, ever. You know that, right?"

"I know. I don't want you getting hurt either." Indy's hand run across the few bruises he got during his time away.

"That's why we need to keep each other safe and healthy. I don't want to have to see you hurt again." He murmurs, leaning his forehead against hers.

He chuckles and rubs her back slowly, soothing her worry over the bruises and scrapes on him. "What about me? Who's going to worry about me getting hurt?"

That gets her to chuckle. "As if I don't personally treat your wounds and flip the doctors off whenever they get close."

"And after you take care of those wounds, do you get to play nurse and tuck me into bed?" Ghost muses, a small smirk appearing on his lips.

"Of course." She responds with a grin.

His arms wrap around her, pulling her in closer. "And if I have a nightmare will you stay with me until I fall asleep?"

She nuzzles him and presses a small kiss to his cheek. "I'm more than happy to be your personal teddy bear, darling."

A small smile pulls at his lips and a sigh escapes him as he tightens the embrace. Her heartbeat is a soothing presence for him in the dimly lit room. "... promise me something, Indy."

She looks up at him and nods. "Anything."

He meets her eyes with a serious look, his expression full of purpose. "Never keep things from me. And especially... promise you will never willingly put yourself in danger for the sake of a mission. I'm still trying to get over the last time..." He sighs, not liking the memory of the time he almost lost her. "... I don't know if I could handle anything happening to you again."

She rests her forehead against his, keeping him grounded and from getting too lost in the memory. "Alright. I promise. You have to promise me the same thing, though."

Ghost looks conflicted, as if he's not sure that he can keep that promise. In turn, she gives him a pointed look.

He swallows and nods. "Yes. I promise I will do whatever I can to keep myself out of harm's way, for your sake."

It's enough for her in the moment and so she accepts it. "If you need motivation, just know that if I ever catch wind of you being in trouble in a mission, I'm going after you and hunting you down."

He chuckles at that. "Oh yeah? And what if I'm in the middle of a combat zone, surrounded by enemy soldiers?"

"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." She responds with a grin.

"That it doesn't." Ghost agrees, smiling back. He's clearly amused by the thought of her coming after him.

After a short pause, he speaks again. "What's my punishment if you catch me sneaking off on another mission before I'm healed?"

"I'd tie you to the bed." She deadpans.

"That's not a punishment." He mutters with a smirk. "That sounds like a good time to me."

"Up until you realize that I won't be doing a thing to you until you are healed." She's not above depriving him.

"You'd torture me like that?" He asks, his voice full of mockery. "Not even a single little kiss?"

She grins and presses a kiss to his lips. "You'll still get kisses. How else will I make sure you get better?"

"Well," Ghost admits with a small smile, leaning into the kiss. "I suppose I can put up with that. For the sake of my health of course."

Indy grins at his playfulness. "Of course, for your health....."
