*** Sruthi ***

"Oh," the King sarcastically exclaimed from a distance the moment I entered the room, "The Queen's cabinet finally decided to show up."

I immediately looked down in fear and hesitation.

"I..." I stuttered, "have we done anything wrong, your highness?"

"Everything," the King simply replied, "You've done everything wrong and you will be investigated for every single one of those things."

My heart skipped a beat the moment I heard the word 'investigated' and I took a step back in fear.

Meanwhile Naina and Pallavi joined in as well.

"Now that everyone is here," the King stated angrily as he took another step forward and we looked at each other in fear. "Sit down, let's begin the questioning," he said pointing towards a round table.

"Your highness....we...." I tried to explain.

"DO NOT TALK UNTIL YOU ARE...." he paused when Nanda pulled me aside and placed himself between me and the King.

The King and the general angrily glared into each other's eyes.

"Everyone out please," Nanda commanded.

"No," the King overrode the general's commands, "Pallavi, Sruthi, and Naina shall stay."

The general looked offended and angrily glared at the King but quickly changed his statements.

"Everyone except for Pallavi, Sruthi, and Naina, leave!" he said and the soldiers immediately left but Veer stayed.

"Veer?" Nanda reminded.

"I am sorry sir," Veer replied, "I am not leaving Naina alone!"

The general shook his head in disappointment but did not ask Veer to leave and instead turned his attention to the King.

"Calm down, your highness," he said patiently, "Tell me what happened and let us handle this together."

"My wife fainted," the King said impatiently, "and one of the first things, I got to hear from her after coming back from war is that she is exhausted and I believe...."

"Your highness, you can't blame the Queen's cabinet for that," Nanda interrupted, "Her husband was at war, she had to take up the responsibilities of the Kingdom, the people we trusted turned out to be traitors....there are a lot of things going on....any of which could've led to the stress...."

"I am not blaming them for Vaishu's current condition," the King interrupted. "I am blaming them for this," he said putting a file in Nanda's hand. "They are supossed to take care of the Queen but half of the time, they weren't even in the palace," he added and Nanda angrily glared at us after examining the attendance report almost as if contemplating on whether he should take our side.

"THE BLOODY QUEEN'S CABINET....." the King raised his voice again as he took a step forward.

"WATCH YOUR WORDS, ADI!" Nanda raised his voice even higher and put his hand agaist the King's shoulder to stop him while staring into the King's eyes like a disappointed father.

He warned the king!
