Harrison looked up when I entered the living room and raised an eyebrow in question. He didn't say a word when I subtly shook my head, silently indicating that we would talk later when we were alone in our room.

The Lead Warrior pressed his lips into a thin line before he slowly nodded. Annoyance flashed through his eyes and across his face, and I could tell that he did not like the idea of waiting for me to tell him what happened but understood why I suggested that we wait.

"Come and sit down with us again, Beta," Colton said after he cleared his throat to gain our attention, breaking the staring contest between my warrior and I. He smiled and bowed his head when I turned my gaze toward him. "We are about to watch another movie."

I furrowed my brows and cocked my head while I stared at them, not moving from my spot on the floor. "Is... this all that you all do?" I asked, confused as to why they were only watching movies and not doing something else like train or garden or anything else besides sitting in front of the television.

Colton and his mate looked at each other and grew still. They didn't say a word while they looked at each other, and I couldn't help but wonder if they were talking to each other in a different way rather than mindlinking each other.

It was as if they knew what the other was thinking even without saying a damn thing...

Harrison cleared his throat and shifted in his seat, and we instantly looked at him. His face was a mask, but there was a look in his eyes that I knew all too well, for I had seen it many times at the last pack we had been at before moving back home.

Anger...

It was a deep rooted anger at the present king, for the king didn't know what was going on behind "closed doors" and didn't seem to care.

Harrison looked at me with a hard look in his eyes, tucking his head closer to his chest. "Go ahead and do what you were told to do and sit down, Axel," he said, his voice cold and hard. "There is no need to keep standing."

I set my jaw and pressed my lips into a thin line before I slowly nodded. I didn't say another word while I sat down beside Nila again, and again, she handed me the popcorn bowl.

I offered her a tight smile and took it from her before I started to eat from it. I didn't say a word while I ate, my mind reeling from the amount of unsaids and the tension that seemed to have fallen on us.

"We do go to school," Nila said, her voice barely above a whisper. She cleared her throat and shifted in her seat. "Marley and me." She hesitated before she shifted in her seat some more, her cheeks turning red when we looked at her. "That's something."

I slowly nodded, biting back a small sigh of relief, grateful that they were doing something "normal" that all my kids did. "I am going to need to contact their school and get them situated where my kids are going," I said and looked at Colton.

"We will get you that information," Colton promised with a quick nod. "Nila is a junior in high school. Marley is a Sophomore." He gestured to his daughter, and we looked at the children before we looked at Colton.

"Elizabeth, my oldest daughter, is also a Junior," Harrison said with a quick nod. "She is in the same grade as Nila."

Nila furrowed her brows and cocked her head while she looked at us. "Do you know about us?" she asked and gestured to the two of us. "Like o-"

"That isn't something we should discuss at the moment," Harrison said, interrupting her. He gave her a pointed look, dipping his head closer to his chest. "It's not safe, but I can assure you that we know something."
