~Clementine's POV~
-Monday

When I was at college it felt like a fresh start.

But with that girl always making eyes at Ashton, it felt like highschool again.

I woke up before Ashton and started getting ready. Our schedules are different from each others so he still has another hour before he has to get ready.

I leave closing the door ever so quietly.

Around the afternoon I had decided I had already hated college because of one girl. I still hadn't figured out her name.

When I was walking to my dorm, Ashton had been walking out.

"Oh, hey." I stopped him.

"Hey. Sorry I need to go. My next class starts in 5 minutes." He kisses me and dashes down the hall.

This is my free time. I decided to go make some new friends since all of the ones I had are at different colleges.

I know on a door down the hall.

It's the same girl who has been ogling at Ashton.

She scowled at me.

"Great, it's the man stealer."

"Is that all she could come up with?"

"It not stealing him if he's my boyfriend." I snap back.

"I wouldn't keep throwing that word around, you just met him." She scoffs.

"Actually we started dating in highschool." I laugh at her.

"Sure." She closes the door on my face.

"Well, that was fun."

I walk a few more doors down and meet a girl named Rebecca. She was different.

By different I mean like a mix of Ashlie and Katelyn. She greeted me with a smile.

"Hi, my name's Rebecca."

"Clementine, but you can call me Clem." I shake her hand.

"So, uh, are you liking Stanford? it's a new experience isn't?"

"Yeah, it really is. I feel so odd, being a freshman and all." I snicker.

We talk a little more until the bell rings. I still have twenty minutes before I have to get back to class.

Ashton goes to our room and I can tell Rebecca had spotted him.

"Who's he?" She asks.

"Oh, you mean Ashton." I act like I didn't notice.

"Yeah, you know him?" She asks still looking past me.

"Heh, yeah, more than know him... he's my boyfriend." I chuckle.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't know." She apologizes.

"It's fine." I smile.

"Seriously, I really am."

"Don't worry about it. Do you want to meet him?" I ask.

"Isn't he kinda in a rush?" She raises an eyebrow.

"Trust me, he'd do anything for his 'sunshine'." I make air quotes.

"Okay, sure."

We walk up to him.

"Hey, Ashton. This is Rebecca." I say.

"Oh, hello." He replies.

"See." I whisper into her ear.

"H-hi." She stutters.

"Nice to meet you. But I got to go." He kisses me and runs off again.

"How did you meet him?" She asks.

"Long story." I sigh.

"Which is a story I want to hear." She grabs me into her dorm.

"Well, when I first moved to..."

I tell her about the beach, and the carnival incident. I tell her about Jessica and Tristan, about my new friend I met and my choice between Tristan and Ashton.

I did not mention the tragedy. I didn't need reminders.

The second bell rings and I stand up.

"I better get going to class. But we should hang out. And maybe not talk about me next time?" I laugh.

"Absolutely." She grins and I leave to go to class.

On the way there, something unusual happens. My face is about to make contact with the ground when my hands stop it from happening.

I turn to see that same annoying girl laughing at me. She tripped me.

I let it go and keep walking when I feel someone push me. Again and again. At the rate, I didn't care if I was late to class.

I stop and turn around.

"Okay. We've all only been here for a literal day. What is your problem?" I ask her.

"My problem is y-"

"Great, another Jessica." I say under my breath.

"Excuse me?" She snarls.

"I said that you are acting like a five year child and you need to get over yourself." I do a sarcastic salute to her and walk away.

At the end of the day I feel someone pushing me again. I tired of all of it so I turn around and push whoever it was.

I find that annoying on the ground.

"What's your name?" I ask her.

"Why does it matter?" She snaps back.

"What's your name?" I ask more serious.

"Annette." She finally answers.

"Okay. Great. Annette. I'd like for you to stop harassing me. Thanks." I mock her annoying tone.

I'm walking to my dorm when I see Rebecca at her door.

"I saw what you did there." She chuckles.

"Oh, that? I was just taking out the trash." I laugh. She laughs alongside me.

We walk into my dorm to find Ashton not there.

"Guess he's still in class." I shrug to myself.

"Hey, um isn't this the dorm your boyfriend lives in?"She asks.

"Yeah." I answer.

"So why are we in here?" She asks.

"It's my dorm too." I respond.

"Oh, you're the girl who took a dorm with him!" She says

"Yup." I grin.

We talk more until Ashton walks in.

"Hey ladies." He plops down on his bed.

"Hey." I smile.

For some reason I felt like showing off Ashton, to show he was mine.

"Am I jealous?"

I hear a pounding on the door.

Ashton answers it. It's that girl, Annette.

"This is Clementine's dorm right?" She questions.

I rush up behind Ashton and politely gesture him to move.

I stand in front of her.

She gives me a worried look.

"I need to talk to you." She mutters.

I look back at Ashton and Rebecca. I turn back to her and give her a confused face.
