I stand up. I walk out of the dorm. I guess Ashton hadn't heard what had been happening.
I'm walking on the street. I bump into a girl.
"I'm so sorry." I apologize.
"It's okay." She replies.
She looked depressed. I look at her. She had bruises and scrapes.
"Are you okay?" I ask.
"No. I'm not."
"What, what happened? Your covered..."
"I know. You don't need to point them out." She snaps.
"I'm sorry. It's just..."
"Hey Dakota!" A man yells.
"No. No." She whines.
"What?" I ask.
"We need to go." She briefly explains.
"What, why?"
The man gets closer.
"Come on!" She grabs me and we run.
I turn my head to see the man running after us.
I didn't understand. I didn't even know this girl's name or who the man was.
We stop. I notice we're on school campus. I turn around to see him missing.
"I think we're good." I turn to see the mysterious man again.
"Dakota." He speaks angrily.
"Leave me alone." She pleads.
"You disobeyed me. Why would you run?" He puts a hand on her face.
She whimpers helplessly.
He hits her. It was sickening. It was wrong.
"Hey!" I grab for his attention.
"Oh, you have a friend I see."
"You can't do that." I point to her.
"What? Do this?" He grabs her by her hair. She whimpers more.
"Stop, please." She begs.
He throws her, forcing her to crash down to the ground.
I pick her up.
"You can't do this!"
"I just did." He replies.
"You're on a school campus." I explain.
"Okay..."
He grabs her and squishes her face.
He kisses her? It was messy and obvious that she didn't like it. I pull her away. I run her up to my dorm.
I open the door. I close it behind me. Ashton jumps at the door slam.
"What was that?!" I yell.
"What's going on?" Ashton asks examining the girl.
"That man, who was he? Where did he even come from?!" I question.
"He's my boyfriend.." she answers
"Boyfriend? Boyfriend! That's, that's not a boyfriend!"
"Clem... what going on?" Ashton asks again. I ignore him.
"That's not a boyfriend. A boyfriend doesn't hit you! A boyfriend doesn't grab you by the hair and throw down to the ground!" I exclaim.
"Clem!" Ashton shouts.
