~Clementine's POV~

-8 years later.

"It's been 4 years since I last saw them. Why am I nervous?" I ask myself, "Maybe since it's been three years."

Yes it's been 4 years since I've seen them. Them being, well who other? Let me inform you on what happened.

The day that I walked out of the room, away from Ashton I got a call. It was from Nicole. She told me that Andrew and her had broken up. That they got into an argument that seemed serious. I never mentioned to her what happened to Ashton and I. Of course she found out but she never found out the official reason. She just knows we broke up. Two years later she started dating Ashton. They dated for two years and got married. During those two years I made sure Ashton wasn't the stupid airhead he once used to be, I made sure he didn't break my best friends' heart like he did to mine. Ashlie heard about Nicole's break up and comforted her, but also got to know Andrew the two started dating last year. Morgan graduated from her school and turned out dating Tristan? Yes she started Tristan. Tristan broke up with Lyric, he found her too controlling. I haven't heard from Lyric ever since. Annette starting dating a guy I have yet to have met. And as for Rebecca, I forgave her a while back. She married Cole. Yes Cole, they met and we're never seen apart from each other since. They dated for two years in college and two years after graduation.

As for David and I, well, we got married the year after we graduated college. We dated all through out college and he proposed soon after a year. That same year we decided to have a child. We named him Hayden. David came up with that name. A year later we had another child, we named her Hazel. Hayden is now 4, Hazel is 3.

Today we decided to have a little reunion. So Hayden and Hazel can meet their best friends.

Oh I think I forgot something.

******

"Get back here!" I laugh chasing after a bare butt Hayden.

Hazel laughs at her entertainment : me running after him.

When I finally catch him I get him dressed.

It's in the evening and just as I announce " Hayden!" David arrives home.

"Daddy!" Hayden squirms out of my grasp and runs to his father.

"Come here." David squats to the ground with open arms.

"Well, could you possibly get him dressed?" I sigh. David looks at me realizing that I'm exhausted.

"Hayden. We're you giving mommy here a hard time?"

"Maybe." He frowns.

"Well, you need to understand that watching after both of you all day is a hard job. Take it easy on the -"

"Don't." I point my index finger towards him. He chuckles in response.

"Come on, let's get you... not naked." He gives me a wretched smile.

"David." I tap my foot.

"I'm just joking." He laughs carrying the boy upstairs.

"Hazel, your brother is something." I sigh. "Now, let's get you in the bath." I pick her up.

"Yay." She says sarcastically.

"Great, sarcasm is greatly appreciated." I laugh, she joins in.

******

"Hazel, Hayden!" Comes a yelling little girl running towards the two children.

This little girls' name was Sophie. Nicole's daughter.

It's still astonishing that everything ended up this way.

Pairing with the little girl was her parents.

"Look it's sunshine." Ashton steps through the door.

"Didn't think you still call anybody that." I roll my eyes playfully leaning against the wall.

"Yeah." Nicole nudges him.

"Habit." He throws up his hands in defense.

"One you should get out of." David chuckles.

"Do you want anything to drink?" I ask.

"Sure." they follow me into the kitchen.

"So where's the party at?" Rebecca and Cole walk in. In front of Rebecca is their daughter and son Following soon behind is Ashlie and Tristan.

Yes Rebecca and Cole had two children. Their daughter is named Emily and their son is named Keegan.

"Whoops, did I forget to mention before that they had children?"

"Hey guys." I give Rebecca and Ashlie a hug.

"Hey Tristan." Ashton and him shake hands.

The men do the same with each other, it's what men do, hand shakes, not hugs.

Though I was surprised to even see Tristan and Ashton shaking hands.

"Wow, never saw you two get along." I mutter.

"That's not true. Remember high school?" Ashton speaks.

"You mean when you two hated each other?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Yes." Tristan laughs.

"It's been what? 9 years?" He raises his eyebrows.

"Yeah, it has." I smile.

After a while, everyone has arrived.

It feels weird to see everyone with a pair. Everyone getting along.

Everyone not hurting.

It feels weird to know that my best friend ended up with my once used to be boyfriend. That I now have children who run around naked. That I left many people behind for them to come back into my life.

I went through horrible experiences and learned I had a sister. Met a guy who annoyed me so much, yet I ended up marrying him?

It feels so unrealistic.

Though I wouldn't have it any other way.

Many paths along the road I could've taken. I'm glad I chose this one.

Even if it lead me through a field of heart break, a heart break that left bandaids on my heart.

The trip is complete. The destination is beautiful.

Heart break can lead to beautiful things. Something I won't forget.
