Truthfully I joined Wattpad to write fanfiction. My first ever fanfiction was called Everything's Archie, when I found the wonderful world that is fanfiction.

Why is Fanfiction so popular?
Why do readers prefer it over regular fiction on Wattpad?!
Here are my reasons:
I was interested in writing an ending for Archie Comics. I felt Betty Cooper's character lacked and showed females as a weaker sex, though it was a mere comic book. I wanted to create Betty Cooper with a strong back bone. One who did not need a date with Archie two-timing Andrews.

So I did so. I was not sure what I was going to write when I joined Wattpad. I did my Archie comic fanfic. It was soon a hit and tweeted by Wattpad!
Fanfictions are real, just as any other real book. It's a book created by someone. With real emotions, feelings, and plot lines. Fanfiction is real when it's published. It's out there. You can read it as any other book.
Some writers look down on fanfiction. Like they are not real books. Why? Because the main plot is not thought up by the original writer. But let me tell you, fanfic writers do their research. They know their own fandoms as well as the creator themselves. I have found fanfictions that tell more of a story when well written.
Fanfics are a new way of life.
A new way of writing.
They have helped me grow creatively as a writer. I later showed my own original fiction after posting fanfic. Without fanfic, I might not have the courage to do so.Give fanfic a chance!
It's fun.
It's real.
It's a book waiting for you to be read.
