The Promise

I woke with a pounding headache . I struggled to get out of bed because every position I was in , the headache became much more worse .
I was able to get out of bed and head downstairs . Luckily my parents were downstairs as well as Alex .
"Morning sweetie ," My mother said.
I went to her and hugged her and said like a baby "Mom , my head hurts ".

"What time did you go to bed ?" She asked.
"I don't know ," I said hugging my mother more and burying my head more into her.
"Well , go back to bed and I will be right there with some medicine ," She said .
"Okay ," I said and walked back up the stairs and laid my head gently on the pillow.

After a minutes , I heard my door open and close . My mother then sat on the bed and told me to sit up .
I did and she gave me medicine to help with the headache .
She asked "Is the headache about whatever happened yesterday ?".
"What are talking about ?" I asked lying to her .

"Stop lying to me . What happened ?" My mother asked.
"Well , Alex and I went to Art class together and he painted a picture of me . He said that it reminded him of what he wished he had . I then chased all of the school but then he ran out the school gate when we stopped to say hi to our friends ," I said explaining to my mother .

"Wow ," My mother said.
"Yeah ,"I said as I laid back down .
"You two need to work things out ," She said.
I said nothing she said getting up ," Well , sleep and you should be just fine . If you hear noises downstairs then its probably the person I called to come look after you ".

"Okay ," I said and then my mother left the room.
I closed my eyes and let my mind wonder about .
Soon , I fell asleep .
When I woke , I jumped .
"Sorry I didn't mean to scare you ," He said .
It was Jake .
"Its okay . Its nice to see you again ," I said .

"Yeah , long time no see ," He said .
"How have you been ?" I asked .
"I have been good ," He said.
"By the looks of it you haven't been going good ," He said .
"Nope ," I said.
"What happened ?" He asked .
I explained the whole thing to him but somewhere in the middle of it , I realized .

"I now remember ,"I said.
"Remember what ?" He asked .
"That you like me ," I said in a guilty and shy way .
He said , "I can't lie anymore but , yes I do and now that you have said that you may be falling for Alex , forget it ".
"Jake , I didn't -
Jake cut me off and said
"You didn't hurt my feelings ," He said .

"Okay ," I said and then the whole room was filled with awkwardness .
"Sooo," He said trying to make the room less awkward .
"What have you been up to ?" I asked.
"Just focusing on my work now that I kind of like it ," He said .
"Cool ," I said and then my bedroom door opened .

Alex came and asked "What are you  doing here ?".
"Mom , called him to stay with me ," I said .
"Okay , how are you feeling ? ". He asked.
Not good since you put me in this position .
"Better ," I said.

"Good ," He said and left .
"You lied to him ," He said .
"How did you know ?" I asked .
"Your face said it all before you said that ," He said.
"Its complicated ," I said .
"Okay . I am going back downstairs you should get some more sleep ," I said .

"No , I want you to stay," grabbing his hand for him to stay .
"Okay ," He said and stayed but I felt this weird electricity up my hand and down my spine .
I let go of his hand because I think Jake felt it too .
We just talked about other stuff . We soon then fell asleep cuddling , I don't know why but we did and I felt really safe because I was protected by the strongest person I know .

***The Next Morning ***
When I woke up , the sun was glaring brightly at me . I wanted to get up but someone was holding me down . I saw that it was Jake . A huge smiled then appeared on my face .
