"Stop here!" We jump down from the treetops, and turn to face our Sensei.

"Why?" Naruto asks. "What is it, Kakashi-sensei? What's wrong?"

"We're taking a short break," he answers.

"Huh?"

"That's a very wise decision," Lady Chiyo says. Naruto grits his teeth, and runs up to him.

"What do you mean? Come on, you were the one who said we couldn't waste any more time! If we just lay around here doing nothing, Gaara's gonna be..."

"Our pace is slow," Kakashi-sensei says, "since we faced off against that bogus Itachi."

"He's absolutely right, Naruto," Sakura says.

"That Giant Rasengan of yours used up a lot of your chakra, Naruto," I point out, "Not to mention, all those Shadow Clones. You're sitting at about just over two-thirds your normal output."

"If we take the time to rest up now, we'll ultimately reach our destination faster. Keep in mind: tomorrow, we may end up meeting the guys that kidnapped Gaara. We'll need our full strength."

"... yeah, all right," Naruto says. "I understand."

"In the meantime, while you rest, I'll restore all of your chakra!" Naruto, Sakura, Lady Chiyo, and Kakashi-sensei all stare at me. I grin. "What else am I going to use all this chakra for?"

We'd set up camp in the same clearing we'd stopped in. Both Naruto and Sakura laid out their sleeping bags and nodded off almost instantly. Kakashi-sensei had disappeared for a little while after I'd replenished his chakra. However, there'd been nothing I could do to ease the aftereffects of using his Sharingan. Lady Chiyo had claimed she wasn't tired, and insisted on staying up while I did the same for Naruto.

I can't hold back my yawn when it comes. In truth, I'm quite exhausted now. Despite all this extra chakra I've got inside me twenty-four-seven, using my Chakra Transfer Jutsu takes a lot out of me, more so mentally than physically. It requires a high amount of chakra control on my part, something I hadn't been so good at in the past. But with all this extra chakra, it's a necessity. I'm an asset to any team or battlefield.

Perhaps... this is why the Akatsuki want me. They want me for my ability to mass produce my chakra, and then hyper-share it with others.

I close my hand tighter around Naruto's as he sleeps, and boost the speed of my expulsion. I'm surprised he isn't snoring. He usually does. I suspect, even when unconscious, he's still on edge about everything. I can't blame him. I've been the same, the day I'd found out about Jinchūriki and the Tailed Beasts. I'd spent three years fretting over the situation, and worrying over my dear friend. This feeling won't ever go away.

"They won't lay a hand on you," I whisper, and I cease the Jutsu.

"... is that... a promise?"

My eyes widen. He's awake, I'd exclaimed as a thought.
