Chapter 27
"You hate me, don't you?" I said, glaring at Lucy. I didn't want Kellan staying with us if my safety was at risk.
"Would it help if I told you he'd be willing to stay in the basement?"
I crossed my arms over my chest. "Only if he's in the cell."
"Julia-"
"No, she has a point. Why the hell would you bring him here after all you've been through?" Aryan said, crossing his arms over his chest also.
"You don't understand."
"Then help us understand."
Lucy sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "He just needs a place to stay for a few days."
"Then tell him to get a hotel room or something. Away from us."
"Aryan-"
"What if he tries to kill me? Again." I asked. We were getting up to the third or fourth time he'd tried to kill me and I was getting tired of it.
"I'm not going to let him hurt you."
"If that was the truth then you wouldn't have invited him here." I stormed off, taking the stairs one at a time. I went into my room and closed the door.
We're not trying to hurt you, Julia. We love you.
"Get out of my head." I hissed, shaking my head. I could feel a headache coming on and I knew it was because of him. It was always his fault I was hurting.
If I wanted to hurt you, I would have done it a long time ago.
"Or you'd keep torturing me like this."
I don't mean to be, Julia. I'm only trying to protect you.
"From what?"
His name is Lucifer.
"As in the devil? That's a little ridiculous."
They're not the same person but he's loosely based after the devil.
"How does that affect me?"
He wants to make you one of his minions.
I laughed. "That's stupid."
Not if you know him.
"That's why you want to stay here?"
Only to keep you safe. He's known about you for a while and I got a tip that he's looking for you.
"Is that why you were at the hospital all that time?"
Yes.
"Why should I believe this is all true?"
Because I'm your father-
"That's not good enough."
Julia-
"Does Lucy know about this?"
No and I'd prefer she didn't find out about it.
"Doesn't she deserve to know what's going on?"
If she knows then he'll be able to find you.
"How?"
He's Lucy's father.
