15: Mixed Emotions

Tala's POV

*Knock* *Knock*

"Come in!" my farther hollers

"Hey Dad, what's up?" I ask getting straight to the point

"Where's the love for your father" he says teasingly

"Oh sorry dad, but someone said it's about my husband...." I drift off

"Yeah, I figured out a husband for you since it's only 3 weeks until your officially luna" he grins broadly at me

"Okay are you going to tell me who it is" I say curious and eager

"Well I know you'll like him" my father hints

"Hmm... so who is it" I repeat

"The lucky wolf is........" he pause for dramatic affect

"Zander Moon!!!" he smile triumphantly, until he sees my face

"Wait I thought you would be happy" he frowns

"Well I would be if we hadn't broken up" I say quietly

"Oh baby I'm so sorry, but I didn't know and oh I'm such a bad parent-" my dad scolds himself

"No you're a great parent remember you did just  want to keep me safe" I smile gratefully at me dad

" So do you have any wolves in mind?" I ask

"Umm....... No" my dad smiles sheepishly

"What is it?" I say in a bored tone

"Well I already betrothed you and Zander, his guardian agreed and are telling him right now they want to merge the best packs" he says bowing his head

Before I can yell Zander barges in and I know he isn't too happy about the news either, his guardian (aunt) is following him like a lost puppy trying to reason with him. We both stand there glowering at nothing in particular, well Zander's glowering at his aunt and I don't want to be mad at me dad. So I try to calm down, and think happy thoughts and suddenly the thought of having pups with Zander pops into my head and I blush unconsciously.

"Are you alright with this Tala?" Zander asks still angry but concerned 

"I don't really know..." I trail off

"Well I'm okay with it as long as Tala is" he smiles at me

"Um okay, can I just think for a bit I'll tell you my answer this afternoon" I say

"Okay" Zander says

"Take all the time you need" my dad says clearly concerned

I leave the room and head to Delta's room, I open the door to find Delta and Lachy kissing on the bed. Delta looks up and blushes furiously, then tells Lachy to get up and go. She walks over to me and embraces me.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I need a friend" I apoligise

"It's alright, if you hadn't then we might've gone a little to far" she says winking 

"So my dad has betrothed me to a wolf as my alpha" I start

"Oh yay who's the lucky wolf" she bounces up and down

"Well it's actually Zander" I say

"Oh, well how are you feeling?" she asks

"Excited, scared, angry and nervous I guess" I say unsure

"So your considering it?"she asks

"Yeah I guess, but I don't want him to just give up on me or possibly our family" I frown

"But he must have had a good reason to, have you seen the way he looks at you he misses you Rose" she says gently

"Okay" I say

"Okay what?" she smiles

"Okay I believe you and I'll see what happens in the next 3 weeks, then if Zander proves himself faithful I'll marry him" I say determined 

"Hey guys I've made my decision" I report

They all look at me expectantly, "Um I'l see what happens in the next 3 weeks then either I'll marry Zander or I'll marry someone else" I confirm.

"Okay, lets eat" my dad smiles happy
