My door creaks open, and I avert my eyes from my phone

My door creaks open, and I avert my eyes from my phone.

"Mom. Knock please."

My mom purses her lips as she enters my room. "I just wanted to make sure you were okay."

"Why wouldn't I be?"

More like why would I. Nothing feels okay now a days. Not school, not my friends, not my family, not me, not even football.

"School called." My mom says sitting on the edge of my bed. I set down my phone, and stare at mom's worried face, illuminated by my lamp.

"About?" I ask, this must not be good.

"Your grades are dropping Will."

"Sorry."

"You know how important junior year is too colleges."

"It's a few bad grades, I'll pick them up again."

"No. It's not just few bad grades Will." My mom says shaking her head. "But that's not it."

My eyebrows furrow in confusion. What else could I have possibly fucked up.

"The guidance department is requesting you eat lunch in the nurses office for the next couple of weeks."

"What?" I nearly yell. "Mom it's been months since I've had to do that."

"They've gotten reports your not eating again."

"Oh." I say, excuses immediately starting to form in my head. "It's just been the past few days mom, I've had to catch up on homework."

"It's okay Will." My mom says. "But your health is more important than anything else okay? Don't want you too slip back into old habits."

"I won't"

God if she knew.

She leans forehead and kisses the top of my head gently. "Love you Will."

My moms touch fill my body with warmth and for a second I want to scream out for help. I want her to know that somethings wrong, that I'm all wrong. That everything I've achieved I'm slowly loosing. But the moments lost as she pulls away.

"Love you too."

...

I can't sleep. I feel so restless.

I roll over, closing my eyes again- but they quickly just flicker open.

I pull off my shirt, leaving just my sweatpants on, but I feel like I'm overheating. Everything is so hot. I feel like I'm choking.

Crazy since I'm always so cold now a days.

I stare at my dark ceiling, my ears listening to a car alarm go off across the street.
