Chapter 28: I'm not girly I can get my hands dirty

You were sitting next to Veronica listening to Polly tell her story.
"But before that could happen my mom and Dad sent me away." Polly said to Sheriff Keller.
"One of Jason's teammates said that before he ran away Jason was dealing." Betty commented.
"Making a one time delivery. He needed... we needed money to get away and start over." Polly said jumping to Jason's defense.
"So Riverdales star football player becomes a dealer?" Keller asked.
"He made a deal with some biker gang." Polly said.
"The Serpents?" Keller asked.
"Why does Riverdale hate the Serpents they can't be all bad. Can they?" You thought.
"The ones you found in Jason car." Keller said.
"Along with everything I had left of Jason's including the ring." Polly said sadly.
"Okay Sheriff I think that's enough for tonight Polly needs her rest." Mom said. 
"I'll be in touch ladies." Keller said.
Polly was crying and Betty was holding her.
"I hope Jughead is having a better time." You thought.

It was school and you were sitting next to Jughead.
"So your mom and Dad want the baby and not Polly?" Jughead asked.
"That's terrible." You said.
"It's an impossible situation." Betty said.
"Betty come on an impossible situation is going to the Oscars and Elton John's party on the same day." You said.
"I agree with F/N." Veronica smiled.
"Now you sound like a Lodge." Jughead smiled.
You rolled your eyes. "It just comes out."
"This is just an annoying situation but I have an idea. What if my mom, F/N and I were to host a baby shower?" Veronica suggested.
"Count me in." Cheryl smiled.
"You want Polly to feel loved and supported." Veronica said.
"Yeah but ideally by her own parents." Betty said.
"Okay so baby steps girl." Veronica said.
"Get Polly and your parents in the same room in a public setting where they can't fight and voila let the healing begin." Veronica said.
"That might actually work." You said.
"Am I expected to come to this thing?" Jughead asked.
"Obviously." You smiled.
"You're F/N's boyfriend." Veronica said sipping her coffee.
Everyone looked around and an comfortable aura was in the air.
"Oh my gosh guys relax it's just a word that starts with the letter b." Veronica said trying to break the tension.
Betty glared and looked away. While Jughead wrapped an arm around you and you smiled.
"Betty what do you say?" Veronica asked.
"Elizabeth Cooper." Mrs Cooper said mad.
"Mom." Betty said.
"I need you and you right now." Mrs Cooper said pointing at Betty and Veronica.
  "What does she want?" You whispered to Jug.
"Who knows." Jug said.

You were having dinner with Jughead at Pops.
"How do you feel about this situation?" Jughead asked.
"About the baby shower or Polly?" You inquired.
"The baby shower." Jughead said.
"Well setting up probably won't be fun." You admitted.
Jughead looked down and smiled.
"Do you want to be on Archie's construction team?" Jughead asked.
"If it gets me out of listening to Veronica's party talk then count me in." You joked.

It was the next day and you were wearing a plaid shirt jeans and comfortable trainers.
"Where are you going?" Veronica asked.
"Out." You said and left.
"Rude!" You heard Veronica shout.
You walked to Archie's house.
"F/N you ready?" Archie asked.
"Yep." You smiled.
"Great." Archie said.
  You were walking with the boys with a hard helmet on.
"What's this?" Fred asked.
"It's your new crew reporting for duty." Archie said.
"I appreciate it. But isn't there something more important you need to be doing?" Fred asked.
"And F/N I appreciate you helping out but this hardly isn't the place for a young lady like yourself." Fred said.
"I'm not girly I can get my hands dirty." You smiled.
"We can work after practice and weekends. Come on I worked for you all summer and these guys and F/N." Archie said.
"We're ready to work Mr Andrews." You said.
You saw your mom and Fred whispering and Fred sighing.
"Alright here we go." Fred said and walked to us.
  It was pretty hot but you were working through it.
"Tired?" Jughead smirked.
"Not yet." You smiled.
You were moving rocks into a pile.
"F/N take five." Kevin said.
"I can do it." You said placing another rock into the pile.
Eventually it was night and you walked into the trailer.
"Hey guys." Fred said. "Real lifesaver today I appreciate it." Fred added.
"Hard hats in the bin soda in the fridge." Fred quickly said and you put your hat away.
"Hey guys I forgot my phone." Moose said and ran out.
You heard noise and you ran out to see people beating up a crew member.
"Hey!" You yelled after the truck.
"Who did this to you Moose?" Jughead asked.
"As long as we keep working they are going to come back." Moose said scared.
  You waited for Sheriff Keller and eventually he showed up.
"Moose over there caught a couple guys working on my equipment with a crow bar." Fred said.
"Clifford Blossom has made it abundantly clear that he would love nothing more then see this project fail." Fred added.
"I doubt the Blossom's would hire thugs to harm innocent teenagers." Keller said.
"Maybe it wasn't him. This is Serpent territory right. Maybe it was them." Archie said.
"Serpents?" You and Kevin asked confused.
"When I worked at the drive in the Serpents never bugged me." Jughead said.
"See any snake tattoos any jackets?" Keller asked Moose who was holding an ice pack to his head.
"It happened pretty fast." Moose said in pain.
Keller disagreed and Archie got mad and started to yell.
"Archie this isn't helping." You said trying to calm him down.
"Come on F/N I'll walk you home." Jughead said trying to get you to get out of the conversation.
"I'll drive her." Archie said.
"No it's fine I can walk her." Jughead said grabbing your hand.
"No Jug it's to fat and she's tired. Let's go F/N." Archie said and dragged you away.
"Bye Jug." You said and waved and he waved back.
