Imagine : the Avengers find out that you're dating the one and only Cap

It had been five months since you'd started up a relationship with the famous Avenger, Steve Rogers. At first, you thought that it wouldn't last. No one did. Even your own mother wondered how on earth a shy doctor from LA had ended up with a frozen, superhuman war veteran in Midtown Manhattan.

The two of you had met after you'd been drafted to Sokovia by a charity group you were part of to give aid to the injured. You hadn't known the full story back then - just that a Stark Tech robot had gone sentient and decided to try and destroy the world. SHIELD had put you and a few other medics into a helo-carrier and dropped you off on an island that was rising higher and higher towards the atmosphere. That wasn't the part that phased you - it was the idea of meeting God at the hands of a robot that made you a bit weary.

Rogers had saved you from a robot that backed you into a corner and the rest was history. A week after you got back, you went on your first date and you'd secretly been seeing each other ever since.

Now, as you stood in the medical bay of Stark Tower, cowering beside the renowned Bruce Banner, you began to regret taking the new job there. Everyone seemed really friendly, so that wasn't the issue - you were just worried that working in such close proximity to Steve would get you discovered. In the past week since you'd started the job, he'd already had three minor injuries and a weight lifting accident just to come and see you.

Looking up from the binders that Bruce was talking you through, detailing each Avenger's health requirements and medical history, you caught Steve's eye. He was just walking through the glass doors, holding his wrist like he'd sprained it.

"Can I borrow Dr Jekyll for a moment, please?" the Captain asked, chuckling slightly at your nickname. After you joined, Tony started to refer to you and Bruce as Jekyll and Hyde. "I think I've hurt my wrist lifting weights again."

"Ah, sure". Bruce took off his glasses and placed them down on the open page. "But don't you think I should take a look?"

"No!" Steve's eyes widened as he tried not to give himself away. He took a deep breath then continued. "No, there's no need. I'm sure I'll be fine if you can spare our lovely new recruit for a moment or two."

Bruce chuckled then told you to go and fix "America's biggest drama queen". As you both disappeared down the hall, Steve let go of his wrist and pulled you into his quarters.

"Hey!" you shouted out before your brain could stop you. You went quiet and shot the supersoldier a glare, whispering, "What do you want?"

"I wanted to talk to you. Is that so bad?"

You sighed. "It is when you're showing up to medical bay every day with a new, nonexistent injury. What if people start to think about it?"

A moment of silence passed between you both and some of your frustration melted away. You never could be angry at him.

His beautiful blue eyes met yours. "That's kind of the reason that I think we should tell people."

"Really?"

"Just the Avengers - don't worry. Seriously, they'll love you."

You thought about it for a second, looking down at the scuffed toe of your trainer. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if people knew. But maybe it would be. All the added pressure of people seeing you as just Captain America's girlfriend could get tedious - maybe even end your relationship. But, on the other hand, no more sneaking around and stealing moments with each other in dark rooms.

"Fine...but you can be the one to tell them."

He ran a hand through his sandy blond hair with an awkward grin. "Well actually - I kind of called for an impromptu meeting in the living room in five minutes - you know, so that everyone can meet our new doctor."

Your eyes went wide and your jaw slackened as you stood in front of Steve, panic immediately flooding your veins at the realisation. "No, no, no, no. I am not telling them now. I am very, very bad under pressure!"

"You're a doctor." He chuckled.

"Yes, and right now I'm pissed off at my boyfriend!"

Steve started laughing as you stood, silently seething with anger. After a few minutes had passed, he held open the door for you to leave and you both walked to the shared living room in silence. When you got there, everyone else was already either standing around or sitting on the large, comfy sofas. Tony was sitting like a Bond villain in the middle of it all; one leg crossed over the other with his fingers steepled in front of him.

"Hello, everyone," Steve began with a smile. "This is Doctor-"

"Your girlfriend."

All eyes shifted to the person who had just spoken. Tony.

A red, burning blush flooded your cheeks as you gasped then turned to Steve. "You told him?" you asked a low hiss that was barely audible over the chaos breaking out. You met Bucky's eye whilst the hollering only continued to increase and he gave you a reassuring smile. The other love of Steve's life.

"Tony," Steve said in a warning tone.

"Steve," Tony mocked, snorting a laugh then turning to you. "I don't think we've had the pleasure of meeting yet". He extended a hand, which you shook. "Tony Stark, genius billionaire playboy philanthropist. And you are?"

"The doctor you've been calling Jekyll."

Steve chuckled, happy to see that you were holding your own against his frenemy.

You looked deep into Tony's dark eyes. "Can I ask something? How did you know that me and Steve are dating?"

"Well, I heard you earlier when I was walking down here and, two, what kind of boss would I be if I didn't vet and surveil possible employees during the interviewing process". He paused for a moment before placing a hand on Steve's forearm with a smile. "Date night was amazing by the way. I mean, seriously, the movie and that jacket you wore - the thing that you did with your hair... adorable. Just adorable."

Bucky chuckled and shook his head, tucking a piece of long, dark hair behind his ear. "Tony, why art thou a heartless bitch?"

"Language."
