Imagine moving into an apartment with your long-time boyfriend then finding his Spiderman suit in one of the boxes.

"It has to be here somewhere," you huffed as you sifted through a cardboard box. Where were the frying pans?

You just wanted to make breakfast and you couldn't even do that. Not with half the kitchen packed up in neat little boxes scattered around the living room. Only Peter knew where everything was after he insisted on packing everything, only he'd decided to go for a jog so you couldn't ask him.

It sucked. Now, you were having to crawl around on your hands and knees to unpack everything by yourself. He had a habit of disappearing unannounced when you needed him most.

After a few more items of dishware and ceramics were laid out on the new rug, you spotted a briefcase that looked more than a little out of place. It was made from tatty, worn leather; something you knew to be his dad's. Gently and curiously, you pulled it from the box and undid the latch, slowly pulling up the lid.

The front door opened and Peter announced his arrival, spooking you into tipping the case. It's contents fell to the floor - a Spiderman suit. The Spiderman suit. You placed the case down and stared at it, your mouth stuck in a perfect "o". That's when he walked in.

"Y/N, this isn't..." he said quietly from behind you.

You turned, tears in your eyes and denial encircling your thoughts, "What? This is just a practical joke? A costume. Peter, come on, did you go to a convention with Ned like this? You can tell me."

"This isn't how I wanted you to find out," he finished.

A tear rolled down your cheek but you quickly brushed it away. He closed the gap between you both and dropped to his knees on the floor beside you. When he tried to reach out and touch your cheek, you flinched back and pulled away. A look of pure hurt took over his features. "Come on, it...it's me."

You continued to avoid his gaze, staring at the suit that lay beside you. Peter followed your line of sight and pushed it behind him. "Come on, Y/N, I know you. I love you. You make me smile. You take two sugars in your coffee except on a bad day when you take three. You sing in the shower". He started to cry too, tears slowly building up in his eyes. "You make me breakfast in the mornings and get up early so I can't make it before you. For the love of God, you play Christmas music in November when most people wouldn't even dare to! I really love you. I can't lose you."

Your eyes met and this time, you reached your hand up to his cheek. With the sleeve of your cardigan, you wiped away his tears then kissed his forehead. "I would never leave you. You know me too well." He choked out a laugh, prompting you to smile. "I'll have to admit though - I was mildly shocked but that's passed now. Trust me, I love you too much to be scared off by something as insignificant as you being Spiderman."

Peter met your eyes and you both burst out into laughter. He wrapped his arms around you and you stayed that way for a while before he pulled away to retrieve the frying pan. For once, you let him make your breakfast.
