Kirt Heinrich

"Shifaly look out!" yelled Alice in a way that I wondered how could Alice hold a scream for that long. Timothy and I turned to the opened door in shock. I was in sheer horror because my eyes met those of that same hooded figure which chased me on the day I fell into what looked like a puddle. I was horrified, with the same kind of terror you have when you see an enemy whose existence you almost forgot about until you saw them face to face in an unexpected moment, at an unexpected time. The being then took an ax and swung it. In front of the being was Shifaly. Shifaly's neck was the only thing in the ax's way.

That was when my eyes beheld one of the most gruesome scenes that even Hollywood couldn't depict. The worse thing was that it was not CGI, what I was seeing was real.

Slink!

Shifaly's was completely decapitated before she could heed to Alice's warning and duck. The edges of the ragged ax blade were laced with blood and bits of Shifaly's flesh stuck among the ridges of the ragged blade.

Shifaly's head fell on the ground and bounced down the stairs. Her mouth was open and tongue was out. Blood was pouring through the open mouth of the now-beheaded head. The eyes on the face were still open, and grains of damp mud covered the face with some kind of muddy-face mask. The mouth of the face was still twitching because of those final nerve signals.

The body of Shifaly was performing a macabre death dance as it began to lose balance. It tipped over and blood began spurting through the widely open cavity formed by the ax. Blood flooded the ground. My face was splashed with small droplets of blood.

Timothy screamed. His eyes were soaked with tears. "Shifaly! No." He reached for a rock, intending to bludgeon the hooded-figure with it. But Alice pulled him back.

My heart skipped a beat. I was almost out of breath. My eyes dilated, and I gaped at a sight that seemed too dreadful to be real. My stomach twisted and my hands flew to my chest. I could see Shifaly's decapitated corpse squirting out blood like a Pepsi bottle opened and thrown on the ground after being shaken up a lot. Her blood flooded the steps. The hairs on my neck stood up. I took a step back. My eyes then looked into those evil eyes of that demonic being which axed Shifaly. I saw the most disgusting face anyone on the world could have. It was black with a blood-red adornment. The being was stinking. It's like as if the skin on the being's face was leprous and decaying. The sight of the corpse caused a shot of vomit to rise from my belly to my mouth. I stopped myself from puking.

"No! Shifaly!" wailed Timothy as he fell on his knees, with tears running down his eyes. The girl he loved so much died in front of his eyes in an unexpected way. As much as I never really liked Shifaly when she was alive, her death impacted me. Her death was traumatic for any witness. Timothy broke into the deepest groan, as he wailed and yelled. At that moment I let go of my ego. I realized how kind Shifaly was with me, and felt bad for mistreating her when she was alive. I began crying and wailing, regretting how bad I treated her. I hugged Timothy who held on to me and cried on my shoulders.

That was when I looked at the being. It lifted its eyes from Shifaly's corpse, licked the blood from the axe and popped some bits of Shifaly's flesh that were stuck in the edges of the ax's blade into its mouth. The being then looked at Timothy. I knew that I had to take Timothy and Kirt with me and run away. Timothy was in foolish rage that he would, without second thought, lunge at the being and try, in vain, to fight it, only to end like how Shifaly ended.

I rose up, and lifted Timothy, who was crying in my arms, up. The being stared at Timothy, and then shifted its glance to Kirt's deep, brown eyes.
