His trainers squeaked on the bright clean marble floors as he made his way into the entrance of the large glass building. "Good morning sir." The two receptionists chimed together with a bow as he walked past from behind their glass desk. "Mornin'." He mumbled back, hastily walking towards them, aiming straight past and for the elevator up twenty floors to the very top. "No Yn today?" One of them asked and he scoffed. "No. That's why i'm in such a hurry. My cheeky little monkey had a sleepover elsewhere last night which is why i'm in a hurry to get up there. So if you'll excuse me." He smiled politely as he strode past and entered the lift.
As soon as the doors pinged shut he bent down slightly placing his key in the slot to allow him access to the top floor. It seemed to take forever but when the metal doors finally opened with a swoosh he was met with a familiar sight.
The room on the top floor, tall glass walls all around. It was bright white and clean, the floors black glittery marble and yet also chaotic with toys everywhere, big bright play mats on the floor, a ball pit and even a brightly coloured climbing frame in the corner. "Dada!" Yn shrieked loudly as she unwrapped her tail from the climbing frame and dropped to the floor, stumbling over toys in her haste. "There's my little monkey!" Namjoon grinned as Yn leapt at him and he caught her as she wrapped her limbs around him squeezing him tightly, placing kisses repeatedly on his cheek as he walked into the room, nodding to her caregivers.
Namjoon placed Yn gently on the play mats and sat down with her to play when one of the caregivers in her white lab coat came striding over. "Sir, last night experiment num-" "Shut up." He cut her off quickly with a stern glare as Yn's bright little eyes looked up at him. "She's Yn..Just Yn okay?" He corrected and the girl nodded quickly and carried on about Yn's behaviour last night.
Yn was generally kept in the top of this tower away from the world, apart from when Namjoon or another senior member of staff took her out. She was a lab made hybrid, the only one of her kind in a world of normal humans, she was a spectacle, something to be loved, feared, admired and detested depending on whom you asked. The team had raised her since she was born, she was now as mostly normal happy four year old, her only difference was her beautiful shiny brown hair that matched her large round brown eyes, her cute little ears and her long tail that she used like an extra limb.
Last night she'd displayed intense human emotions. She'd slept away from Namjoon for the first night in her life and it hadn't gone well, and yet it'd gone perfectly. She'd cried for a long time before bed entering a state of hysteria crying for Namjoon. Exactly the reaction you'd expect from a four year old away from their parent for the first time. Exactly the reaction they'd wanted.
Namjoon grinned upon hearing his cheeky little monkey had cried for him. He pulled her between his legs and wrapped his arms around her waist as they continued to string chunky beads onto a piece of string to make a necklace. "Did you miss me last night Yn?" He asked gently. "Lots and lots dada. Did you know I would cry?" "No. I thought you might though." He smiled and Yn tilted her head all the way back to look at him and he placed a kiss on her forehead. "Do you know why I cried?" Yn asked with a grin as she continued to look at him from her funny angle, this point of view made her laugh. "Nope. Why did you cry?" "Because I missed you dada. I miss you all the time."
Namjoon couldn't help the grin break out onto his face as he squeezed her tight tickling her ribs. "I missed you too. Do you know that's the quietest the house has ever been?" "It's because I wasn't in it." Yn clapped as Namjoon tied the necklace up and put it on her as she jumped up.
"Dada? Catch me!" She grinned as she went darting across the room and elegantly swung her way high onto the climbing frame in the corner, swinging from a top bar by one arm and her tail and Namjoon rolled his eyes playfully as he walked over. "You're only playing this game because you know you'll win Yn. That's very cheeky." He chuckled as he walked into the middle and jumped to try touch her foot. "Cheeky?" Yn asked as she lifted her foot up and he nodded. "Yup. Dada's one and only cheeky little monkey."
He caught her as she let go and kissed her cheek. "Ready to go outside baba?" "Will you look after me if we do?" "Always." He smiled as he set her on his hip kissing her cheek and walking towards the door.
