"This is the longest 'short stroll' of my life." Yoongi grumbled as he pulled his large coat around him, shoving his hands in his pockets as he trudged up the trail in the woods, the trees sheltering them from the drizzle falling in heavy sheets from the grey sky above.
"Look, we've been working hard on music and management thought it would be good to take a break and get some fresh air okay? So stop whining, it's a nice early morning walk to start the day." Namjoon said as he led the way, dry sticks and foliage crunching under his feet as the seven kept heading through the trail.
It wasn't long before chatter from the back of the group between Jungkook and Jimin made its way to the front, terrifying Hoseok. "Shut up are there werewolves in this forest." He snapped, his face falling in fright at the thought as he adjusted his hat to distract his mind. "Yeah! But don't forget the news Hobi! They're peaceful, but there's a rogue going around killing them off." Taehyung said trying to reassure him but it didn't work.
"If they're friendly why are they being killed off? And even so that means there's a murderer in the woods!" He gulped and Tae took his hand telling him not to be such a baby, as he pulled him along, reassuring him they'd be fine.
They continued their walk peacefully until Hoseok stumbled and crashed into Tae. "Did you hear that?!" He breathed as they all looked at him in confusion, Tae with an annoyed look on his face as he straightened out his coat. "Hear what?" Jimin asked as he strained to listen to the noises of the woods, trying to figure out what had caused Hobi's fight.
There was a strangled sort of cry and Hoseok's face paled. "That!" He gulped as he clung onto Tae's arm making him roll his eyes as the noise continued and Namjoon walked slightly off the trail towards the noise as the others shouted to be careful and he gave them a small wave to signal he'd heard them.
He only got about 200 yards away when he found the source of the noise. Wrapped up in a tattered, probably stolen, pink blanket was a baby that couldn't have been older than 16 weeks. Namjoon's breath caught in his throat as he knelt down to examine the baby, despite her young age she already had the start of beautiful silver hair and grey eyes. As he was about to stand and call for the others something moving in the distance caught his eye.
He glanced further into the woods and could see a woman watching him, she had long silver hair the same colour as the baby but she was standing slightly bent over like she was in pain, her right hand clutching her chest and that's when he noticed she had blood seeping through her ripped broken shirt. Judging by her appearance and the fact she'd been hurt he guessed she was a Werewolf. As soon as his body moved slightly and he opened his mouth the woman shook her head frantically at him. She didn't want to be noticed.
"JOON WHAT IS IT?!" Jungkook called impatiently as he started making his way over and Namjoon knew he had to act fast. He pointed to the baby and the injured woman nodded, something in her eyes pleading him to pick her up. As soon as he bent down and scooped up the baby the woman gained a look of relief despite her pain as she silently ran off with a limp into the dense woodland.
"Guys? We've got a new member." Joon called turning around. Something in him knew that woman wouldn't come back, she wanted her baby to be taken somewhere safe as they'd clearly already been attacked.
As he turned around there were gasps. "Woah!" Jimin breathed running over and Tae's eyes lit up. "That's a Werewolf baby! Look at her pretty eyes!" "And her beautiful hair!" Jin chuckled as he opened his arms to Namjoon who handed her over and he instantly placed the wrapped up baby to his chest and zipped his coat around them both to keep her warm enough and she soon stopped crying.
"Are we taking her home?!" Yoongi asked shocked and Namjoon bit his lip thoughtfully and nodded. "Yeah we'll look after and give her the best home she's ever had." He said loudly looking over his shoulder, knowing the woman was still out there listening somewhere.
They continued to walk the trail quickly, the baby zipped up in Jin's coat until they reached the end of the trail and walked home, Jimin cooing at her as Jungkook stroked her tiny hand, Hoseok just looking at the tiny Werewolf in awe as Yoongi took her out of Jin's jacket when they got in the door, booping his nose against hers, Tae commenting over and over again about how precious she was as Namjoon headed straight to a set of car keys. "Where are you going?" Jungkook asked and Namjoon chuckled. "Well, someone's gotta go clothes shopping for our newest member." He joked happily as he walked towards the door with an excited Jimin and Taehyung in tow.
