Chapter 18: Wait... There's a Formal?

Me and Allison have just been watching as many chick flicks or comedies as we can, so far Definitely Maybe, Mean Girls, She's The Man and we are currently watching Mean Girls 2.

Well, if you count stating the many ways the movie sucks.

"Like why even make a second one? The first was so amazing you can't top that." I exclaimed, pointing to the TV and using my other hand to shove some chips in my mouth.

Allison shrugged, giving me a weird look for how I was laying on her bed. "Maybe they wanted to get as much money as they did for the first movie. Didn't really work out.." She picked up a cushion from beside her and placed it on her lap, resting her elbows on it, leaning forward so she can see me better. "Why are you upside down?"

"Its comfy." I shrugged.

"Are you-" She paused, obviously trying to find a word that fits and wont send me off on one. "Okay?"

"Totally fine." I sighed, emptying the rest of the chip packed in my mouth.

"Sure... Anyway, you're coming with me and Lydia dress shopping tomorrow right?" She questioned.

"Why are you buying dresses?" I scrunched my nose up in confusion. Its freezing cold outside, why willingly wear a dress?

"You are kidding me right?" Allison asked, eyes wide.

Why is she looking at me like that...

"I don't think I made a joke, so no, no kidding here Alli."

"The formal! You are Lydia freaking Martin's sister, how can you forget?!" I winced a little at her choice of words, but quickly brushed it off.

"A formal? Huh..." I looked at the ceiling in thought. How the hell could I have missed the fact that theres a formal? "Wow, just shows how distracting everything else is lately."

"Like what- oh." Allison quickly shuts her mouth and I immediately feel bad, she thinks I'm talking about that but no, really I mean the fact that werewolves are real, her family are hunters for said werewolves, my buddy Derek is a werewolf- wait, where is Derek? He has not been answering my calls.

Well, he never answers my calls, but still.

A knock at the door interrupted my train of thought, the door slowly opened to reveal a blonde woman.

Is it a bad time for me to judge Allison's family and say that this lady seriously needs to get her roots dyed?

"Hey Allison, I was wondering if you wanted to go out but I didn't realise you had company." She said, motioning to me.

"Yeah, this is Mia." Allison smiled, swiftly throwing a pillow on my stomach to get me to sit up and say hi.

"Yeah, this is Mia." I confirmed with a nod of my head.

"Funny." The woman chuckled, pointing a finger at me. "I like you."

I resisted the urge to flip my hair over my shoulder and make some sassy remark that Danny taught me, its challenging.

This woman seems nic-

"I'm Kate, Allison's aunt."

Nope. Not nice.

I must have looked weird or something because Allison nudged me in the ribs, I muttered an 'ow' under my breath.

"I have heard so much about you." I blurted out, instantly regretting it when Kate took a seat beside me on Allison's bed.
