I stood beside Comet as (y/n) tied  a red horse up to the fence as well. She glanced over her shoulder, to see Tom sitting in the tailgate of the ranger, glaring at his feet. She sighed and shook her head. She brought a bucket over to me, with side and a sponge in it. She laughed at my confused face when she set the bucket down.

"Have you ever done this before?" She looked at me with raised eyebrows.

"Uhm....heh. No-." I rubbed the back of my neck as a force of habit and smiled shyly as she chuckled.

She grabbed the dripping sponge out of the bucket and handed it to me. I held it and I couldn't help but just stand there, looking out of place. Comet stomped impatiently and snorted. So I just went with my instincts and started to scrub the horse. (Y/n) watched me with her arms crossed and every once and a while redirected my hand or told me to "put your back into it." With every touch, every brush, this woman was just driving me wild. Yeah, I just met her less than 24 hours ago, but I just feel like she gets me. I can joke around with her, she laughs at my stupid jokes, and let's not even get me started about her personality so far. She is so kind, sweet, gentle, she's creative, at least what I've seen, I can tell there is a lot more to this woman than what meets the eye.

Now that Comet's body was thoroughly washed, now it was time for his face. (Y/n) held onto his rope and she shushed him gently and he calmed down a little. I walked over with the damp sponge and gently patted it over his nose bridge, cheeks, and between his ears. Comet seemed like he was comfortable around me and I could see the female standing beside me smiling out of the corner of my eye. But I could also see Tom burning holes in my back with his vengeful glare. (Y/n) seemed to notice his glare as well and scooted closer to me. I didn't understand what she was aiming for at first, but I got the idea once she put her hand over mine and stroked Comet with me. I looked over and her and couldn't help but stare. The curve of her face, her rosy nose and cheeks. The way her plump, pink libs curved up into a soft and gentle smile. She glanced over at me and caught me staring. She raised an eyebrow at me and her smiled grew.

"What are you looking at?" A pink dusted her cheeks as she looked down and tried to move her hand away from mine, but I grabbed it and held it between my hand and Comet's newly cleaned coat. She looked up at me shyly. I chuckled and smiled at her.

"You. You're kind of hard to just overlook." I could feel my neck get hot and my ears turn red. I have never been so straightforward. Wow. Maybe my game isn't as rusty as I thought it was. *pats myself of the back*

She blushed and gently removed her hand. I smiled at her and put the sponge back down I into he bucket. She walked behind me, brushing my arm as she did, and grabbed the bucket and strode over to the other horse. I know she did that on purpose, and I would get her back for that. I unclipped Comet from the fence and took off the bridle the best I could. Well, it was more like him just pulling his head out of it while I held it, but we managed. As I walked over to (y/n), Tom jumped up from the tailgate with a headstall and rope. He came through the gate and shoved them into my chest roughly, and pointed to a tan horse in the back of the field. I nodded and walked in the direction of the horse. I glanced back over my shoulder and saw Tom leaning against the fence, talking to (y/n) as she washed Jessie with care. She looked fairly uncomfortable with Tom standing there, she must still be tense about whatever happened earlier.

I picked up my pace and called the tan horse over to me. The horse just stood there, resting on three legs with one relaxed. I calmed myself down and walked straight up to it. It's ears perked up and it complied as I put the bridle and lead rope on it. But as soon as I tried to walk forward, he wouldn't budge. I tried to call him and tugged at the rope, but he just stood there, bored. I sighed and went over to the other side of him and tried to nudge him forward. I sighed and stomped off, slightly angry. When I was halfway up to the fence, I head hooves behind me. I thought it was Storm, but when I looked back, the tan horse was a couple steps behind me. But it quickly looked away once I turned around and acted like he wasn't following me. I smiled mischievously and turned back around and kept walking. I could still hear his heavy hooves thump behind me. I could even feel his warm breath on the back of my neck. I tried not to burst out in laughter when I met (y/n)'s eyes. She pointed behind me and I nodded. She giggled and Tom glared at her, and then me. Once the tan horse was up to the fence, I turned around swiftly and grabbed the rope and tied him to the fence. The horse out a large sigh, he had been caught. And he just stood there, looking bored with everything. But as soon as (y/n) came over to him, his eyes lit up with a spark almost, and he let out a trill of excitement as she patted him on the neck and then handed me the bucket with suds.

(Y/N) P.O.V.

*(time skip to lunchtime)*

Finally, all of the horses were washed, with Storm cracking one of the buckets from trying to splash himself with the soapy water. I think everyone was tired. At least the ones that actually worked were tired. Cough, not Tom, cough. But it was nearing lunchtime, and Tom had been brooding the whole time. So I sprawled my legs out over the bench seat of the side by side, so Tom had no choice but to sit in the back. I smiled to myself, then moved my feet, so Chris could sit shotgun. I started the engine and tore down the dirt road back to the cabin. Once we were there, Tom went to pout on the porch and Chris helped me put everything back into its respective place. I called Chris over.
" Hey, would you mind to go pick up some food, I'm gonna try to sort out 'James Bond'." He nodded and went to exit the barn, but before he could, I called out and handed him some cash for lunch.
"That's money for all of us, I don't care where you go, I ain't picky."

He climbed up in his Jeep and I waved bye as he drove off. I closed my eyes and sighed, now was the real moment of truth. I trudged up to The back porch and sat down in one of the lawn chairs that was there, strategically placed across from Tom. He looked at me as I sat down, and he raised his eyebrows at me. I put my elbows on the table and interlaced my fingers together.

"So, what do you want to know."
