November 27th 1983

Lily bundled Harry up tightly into his big puffy jacket as well as a toque and tiny little mittens

"James please be careful with him..." she said quietly as she zipped up Harry's puffy jacket, it was so puffy in fact that his arms were pretty much stuck doing a t-pose

"You don't trust me with our son? That hurts Lils" James said, feigning a deep pain in his heart

"You know what I mean James..." Lily rolled her eyes "he's never been in the snow before and it's supposed to get awfully cold...I don't want him to get sick okay?" She stood up and helped James into his own winter jacket

"Okayyy mummy!" Harry blurted out happily, looking slightly ridiculous in his little puffy jacket and heavy winter clothes

James grinned down at his so and offered his hand. They had been slowly trying to encourage Harry to start walking on his own, something which Harry hated. He'd always loved being carried and he was angered and confused that his parents had begun to stop listening to his little arms reaching over his head

Harry once again attempted to reach his arms over his head but his puffy jacket made it quite the challenge

James let out a chuckle and shook his head, "you have to walk munchkin..."

Harry frowned, an adorable sight as whenever he pouted he always seemed impossibly more adorable. He reluctantly reached up and held his his father's much larger hand, walking out and waving behind him, "bye bye Mummy! Bye bye!"

"Come on munchkin..." James said softly, gently pulling Harry along with him

"Okayyyy daddy!" Harry said happily stumbling a little as he walked

"Oops careful buddy" James slowed down to make sure Harry got his proper footing. "That's it...here we go kiddo"

They slowly continued to walk along the quiet street, Harry making small groans of effort with each step

James smiled softly down at Harry, finding his little groans of effort impossibly adorable. He wanted to pick up Harry and carry him but knew Lily would find out and he'd get both of them into trouble

Harry suddenly stopped walking and leaned his head back to stare amazed at the night's sky

James was slightly confused at first but quickly realized what had caught his son's interest

The snow began to fall hard, fat white flakes falling heavily from the sky.

Harry, who'd never seen snow, smiled in awe. His little green eyes wide with wonder as he stared curiously at the white specks falling from the sky

"Daddy daddy wook!" Harry pointed at the sky amazed and jumped up and down excitedly

"Yeah Harry that's called snow kiddo"

"Soe!" Harry tried, saying it wrong but sounding adorable in his attempt

James giggled quietly, "come on kiddo...let's keep walking"
