Dark covers are so prevalent on Wattpad - they encompass so many more things than any other genre, really. They can be dark fantasy, horror, or even non fiction and historical fiction. There is no limit to this type of design. It's not even limited to manipulation; vectors can be dark, simple covers can be dark. So many doors are wide open here.

The main points we keep in mind while looking at dark covers is effective use of tone, contrast and colors to create ominous feelings. Just like light covers, it's all about conveying tone and mood with the basics of art and design - which doesn't necessarily even have to be through the use of dark colors.
