"WE'RE GOING TO FIND MY GUN AND LEAVE," Martin announced.

Martin gathered us all in Lea's room. Me, Ras, and Beatrice sat on a bed across from Simone, Lea, and Patrick as Martin sat near the window.

After what happened yesterday, I haven't really said much. I sat near the back near the headboard, disappearing into my thoughts.

"Why do you get to decide that?" Patrick said defensively.

"I don't, Patrick. This place is coming between us. There's something wrong here."

"No, there isn't, " Lea says immediately.

"Okay, fine, but we're still in a quarantine zone. Huh? Wasn't it our plan to get out?" he tries to reason.

"What about the Apollon guy? " Simone ask.

"What, " Lea questions.

"There's a guy from Apollon here."

"The doctor guy, " I said out loud, not really to anyone in particular. Beatrice looks at me and then Simone.

"What are you talking about, "she asks.

"He was gonna inject Kai with something. I think he knows something."

Does he know anything about how I got this way?

"Yeah. We'll find the answers elsewhere, " Martin persists.

What if this is my only chance to find out?

"We can't leave until Kai gets better, " Beatrice says.

"But it's not safe here."

"I vote that we stay, " Beatrice says, Lea and Patrick, agreeing.

"Kai, what do you think, " someone asks me. Someone places their hand on my shoulder.

I felt my shoulder burn when I remember him grabbing me.

I push the hand off, making it stop.

"Kai, " I hear someone say. I see it's Beatrice. It looks like she had just drawn her hand back. I look up, seeing everyone looking at me.

"Are you okay?" she asks, concerned.

"Yeah, just feeling kind of weird, " I lied.

"I asked if you wanted to stay. You feeling any better?"
