"You're avoiding me..."

"Oh hi, Leila. I'm great, thank you so much for asking!"

"Yeah, yeah, blah blah. I don't have time for formalities. "

"Since when are you such a busy girl?"

"Since when did you get so sassy?"

"I'm not sassy. Can we start this conversation again?"

Beep beep beeeeep

"Hello?
Leila, are you there?
Hello?
... "

----------

"Leila speaking, good evening."

"You hung up on me!"

"What? You were the one who wanted to start the conversation again..."

"Not literally."

"Well, it's too late for that now isn't it?"

"Guess so, yes. I'll just try not to be too annoyed by it. "

"Good.
How are you, honey?
It's been forever since we've last talked and I can't even remember the last time I got to hug you."

"I'm... I'm really good, Leila.
It's been a long time since I've been this happy."

"If you're happy, I'm happy.
Even if it makes me a little jealous that you're this happy without me around."

"Imagine how happy I would be if you were here!"

"I know!"

"It's less than a week now.
Less than a week, Leila!
I can't wait for you to meet everyone!"

"You know I'm only interested in seeing this one particular person, right?"

"Let me guess... Hunter?"

"Who else?"

"Uhm, I don't know...ME?!"

"Aah, okay, okay...two people."

"Psssshhh... What is it with that guy?
I'm used to everyone I meet on tour being infatuated with him, but I expected more from you."

"Isn't it normal that I want to meet the guy that makes my favorite person in the world this happy?"

"What? He isn't..."

"Save it for New York, babe. We both know how this conversation is going to go. You'll try to convince me he isn't the reason, I won't believe you and then we just have to agree to disagree. We'll talk about it face to face."

"Fine, whatever you say."

"Haha, glad to hear you haven't changed.  How long will you get to be in New York?"

"A whole week! I'm so excited, it's stupid! I've only been gone a couple of months and I've already missed it so much."

"It's New York! I miss it just by thinking about leaving."

"I'm looking forward to being home, you know? No hotel rooms for a whole freaking week!"

"Aren't you happy I convinced you NOT to sublet your apartment?"

"Very, yes! Oh, that reminds me... Did you water my plants?"

"Every week!"

"You're the best, Leila."

"Tell me something I don't know..."

"I might soon."

"I'm counting on it. What is that sound in the background? Can you turn it off? It's kind of annoying."

"Hmm? What? There's nothing...
Oh...wait, give me a sec."

"..."

"There. Better? I moved myself to the bathroom."

"Yes! What was that?
It kinda sounded like snoring!"

"Snoring? Ha-ha-ha...Don't be ridiculous, I'm completely alone in here."

"Oh. My. God. Millie? Is there someone with you in your room? Is there someone sleeping in your room? Are you even in your room? Is it Hunter? Did I just hear Hunter Rivers snore?!"

"No. It's probably just the traffic you heard. My window was open, that's why I went to the bathroom."

"Oh, and you couldn't just close the window?"

"Erm...yeah, I didn't think about that."

"You can't see me, but I'm rolling my eyes."

"You love me."

"You're lucky I actually do, yes.
Shit, I need to go.
I need to go shout at Sallie because I CAN SEE HER AND HER LOVERBOY'S NAKED ASSES AGAIN IN THE GARDEN.
Oh sure, Sallie, go ahead...pretend you didn't hear me."

"I love those two! Say hi to Sallie for me, would ya?"

"Sure. Say hi to Hunter for me when he wakes up, would ya?"

"Ha-ha."

"See you in a couple of days, sweetie"

"Love you, bye!"
