I remember the night I came home from work,
You stood in the living room taking me in.
You walked over slowly as I was blabbering about work, too busy to realise you'd gotten so close.
You took my hands and brought me closer to you, ran your hands from my arms to my fingers and back up.
You stared at my eyes,
And began describing what you noticed.
Natural makeup,
The pink scrunchie,
The pink under my eyes to match for Valentine's Day.
Cute. Simple. Classy. Beautiful
"Just like you"
You hugged me and kissed me like the whole day apart had been months.
I made a joke and you laughed and we had this picture perfect moment.
I have an album of these moments in my head.
All cute
And simple
Some of them classy.... Some of them maybe not/
All of them beautiful.
Now all of them are gone.
The book just ends.
And the memories get faded with time.
But I'll never forget the way you looked into my eyes,
And how your lips melted into mine.
I met the other half of my soul,
And watched as it ripped me to shreds.
The book of memories may be tattered and worn.
But I'll never forget how you loved me.
Until you didn't anymore.
