Learning of the impending vampire army, the wolves had upped their patrols, practices and training, meaning Elise was seeing her boyfriend less and less. While during this period she'd been home much more lately, her father barely noticed—he too working long hours and being so tired he could hardly remember what he'd eaten or if he had at all.

"Should I be worried?" Asher whispered to his younger sister, his arm wrapped around her shoulder and pulling her to his side while they watched whatever movie Elise had put on earlier.

"Why would you ask me that?"

"You only come home when something is wrong or when we should be worried. So, should I be worried?"

Elise sighed at how much her life had changed since her family had moved to Forks. Before she'd never be worrying her brother with talk of supernatural, she probably would've still been having weird dreams and sleepwalking to unusual places at ungodly hours of the night. "No, you don't have to worry because you will be safe."

"Will you be?"

"Asher," The brunettes tone was stern, blue irises throwing a look that told him he was asking too many questions that would only lead to more and have him overthink every possible bad outcome. "Why don't you talk to me about Leah? She told me that the two of you have been hanging out lately."

Sinking further into the couch, Asher seemed to drift off into his own world at the thought of Leah Clearwater. Her inky black hair that looked far too appealing kissing the tips of her shoulders, her strong facial features and the brood she usually held was more attractive than the older Dunatos could verbally explain. "God Ellie, she's a dream. I always knew she was hot but I'd only ever seen her from afar with Paul and the other guys. Hanging out with her one-on-one, she isn't even as mean as she seems." Running five digits through his hair, two getting caught in a knot that he gently eased out and continued on with the nervous reflex he'd always had. "When she talks it's aggressive, she likes getting her point across but she's so open to other ideas."

Elise hummed happily upon hearing how content her brother was with Leah Clearwater. She'd been going through so much since Sam had gotten engaged again, her father dying and now her being a werewolf. "You've always liked aggressive, luckily I approve of this one and I give you the go ahead to be with her."

"You aren't going to give me the whole 'Don't hurt her' speech?"

"Don't need too, if you hurt her she'd hurt you back far more than I ever could."

Looking up at the ceiling with his chocolate brown eyes, Asher was stuck in a lovesick daze thinking about his Quileute lover—could he even call her that? They'd never even kissed before but he just knew deep down that she was it for him. "I know." He responded with the goofiest little grin on his face. "What about you and Paul?"

"Paul's perfect, his anger issues are getting better and he's been getting bigger lately because off all the extra training. Sam's got them working their asses off and clearly it's been paying off."

"You sleep with him yet?"

"For being my older brother, I'd say you're far too comfortable asking me evasive questions."

Rolling his eyes and adjusting his body in such a way that he was facing her and still comfortable, Asher scoffed. "We talk to each other about everything, as long as you spare me too much detail I'll be fine."

"Yes, we've slept together but it's not imperative for us. He comes home exhausted and he tells me he feels just as happy when we're cuddled up or if I wake up early just to cook for him. He's everything I never knew I needed and more."

Asher nods silently, internally content and immensely grateful that someone out there had been able to get through to his blood. Elise barely ever let anyone take care of her, appreciate her even and the more time she spent with Paul the less Asher saw her without a smile on her face. She was glowing, powers excluded, she'd genuinely found happiness that didn't come and go. "Mom would've loved him."

Grabbing ahold on his hand and squeezing reassuringly, a wordless agreement that while the topic of their deceased mother was saddening, the thought of her being happy because of their happiness was much more fulfilling—it brought them both peace. "You think I could fight a werewolf?"

"Are you planning on trying?"

"Not particularly, I just keep thinking that I can subdue a wolf easily that fighting them would be just as easy."

"I have complete confidence that you could but for my sanity and well-being, I'd much rather you didn't try to find out."

Shaking her head with a half-smile on her face Elise kept her mouth shut. The movie on the television was long since forgotten, pictures flashing against the screen and words flowing through the room but not being processed.

"Even if I tell you no and you don't listen, Paul would shit bricks if you did and he found out."

"I'm very good at keeping secrets."

"With us maybe, but giving the close link everyone in the pack has, you won't be doing much fighting and secret keeping for very long."

Elise groaned childishly, her completely forgetting the last time she went against a werewolf, even though that one was in emotional distress and she wasn't even prepared, she figured that under much more fair circumstances she could totally kick some furry ass. "You're not wrong but you seem to be forgetting that there is also very little that I could do that I couldn't get away with. I am in contact with fates, I already know how it'll end."

"You only asked me because you know you'd win."

"Now you're catching on, finally."

"Fuck you."

The duo burst out in a fit of laughter, their crude language towards one another not taken to heart but still building bonds deep within that would keep them closer then even Paul. Because while love was strong, the bond between blood was stronger and the Dunatos siblings would soon show their true strength.

Authors Note
Just a filler, wanted to give a little fluffy chapter on Asher and Elise because I love the two of them together and it's such a similar relationship like me and my family that I wanted to share. I hope it translated well and that you felt as happy reading it as I felt writing it.

Enjoy.
