If this is a dream,
Please don't wake me up.
Your eyes, how they gleam!
I can't ever get enough. Please, someone pinch me!
I must know if you are real.
My excitement buzzes like a bee
As I anticipate your presence.I refuse to blink my eyes
For the sake of seeing you.
I don't want to face the lies.
The ones you've thrown my way.I won't let you slip through my fingers,
Like you so desperately want me to do.
The feeling of your breath on me lingers,
As I open my eyes to see nothing there.~a poem by Elizabeth Kay on heartbreak~
