The smile in her eyes
Is slowly fading.

The chirp in her voice
Is now breaking.

Her once blush covered cheeks
Are no longer lively with color.

The tears streaming down her face
Couldn't be any cooler.

The happiness she once knew
Has been sucked out of her.

She fights a losing battle
Feels cold, like the dead of winter.

Her loss is the joy she once had
And her loss is my loss.
