Everyone takes for granted
The love that the moon holds for the stars

While we just say "I love you"
And simply assume that those words are ours

But, vowing to never leave them alone
The moon sings her stars to sleep every single night

A mother she is to them
Sacrificing her shine so her stars might have some light

A love most only dream to experience
While the moon shines her beautiful, gentle hue

I'm so blessed to realize
That my moon will forever and always be you

Hey guys! I wrote this poem for my mother for Christmas! I couldn't post it until today since I didn't want her to see it early 🙈 Hope you guys love it!

P.S. It made my momma cry 🥺
