Ch. 36 "Alive"

                                                          Jayden POV 

I was laying in bed of the hotel me and Kol were at, Kol was laying next to me fast asleep, the clock ticked and ticked, 

I looked at the clock, midnight, 

I couldn't sleep, sleep has been the last thing on my mind lately I can't remember how long it's been since we left, 

But all me and Kol have been doing is having fun, getting drunk, partying, I don't mind it takes all the pain away, but once the effects of the alcohol wear off, 

My problems resurface, 

I sighed, 

I slowly sat up, putting my shoes on and leaving the room quietly, 

I know Kol said never wonder around New Orleans at night alone, due to the population of vampires are massive, 

But I need air and something to make me forget, anything to make me forget the massive hole in my heart, 

I know it may sound weird but Klaus was everything to me, like big brother/protective uncle/father figure, 

And now he's gone, 

I walked into a bar that was nothing but drunks, I don't see any vampires, but who knows, 

I sat at the bar, 

"What can I get you?" The woman said 

"Anything strong," I said 

"ID," She said 

I pulled out a fake ID Kol got for me just incase, 

She nodded filling me a glass of whatever, 

I downed it like it was nothing, then another, then another, soon enough I was slowly starting to feel numb, 

It was a good and bad feeling, 

Good because it was making me forget, bad because this is the only way to do it, 

After I though I was good and numb, I left, I was on my way back to the hotel when someone grabbed me and pinned me to the brick wall in an alley, 

Veins formed under his eyes, 

"Don't scream," He tried to compel, 

I smirked at him, 

He looked shocked, 

"Screw you," I said kicking him in between his legs, he groaned but didn't let go of my throat and squeezed harder, 

"Your going to regret that," He said gritting his teeth, 

"I suggest you release my little bird before you regret it," A familiar voice said 

I shook my head, 

No, No, He's dead, 

"Mind your own damn business," The vampire said 

"Very well I did warn you," The voice said next thing I know his the guy's heart is ripped out from the back of him, 

the vampire releases me and falls to the ground dead, 

Then I see him, Klaus, 

"Klaus?" I said confused, 

"Yes little bird it's me and I'm alive," He said 

My eyebrows scrunch, 

"I don't understand," I said 

"It was to keep everyone safe," He said 

He was now standing in front of me, and I did something not many people would do to the original Hybrid, 

SLAP! 

I slapped him hard on the cheek making his entire head go in one direction, 

Then I felt tears from in my eyes, 

He looked at me, I think he seen the pain behind my eyes and brought me into a hug, 

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you little bird," He whispered, 

His shirt muffled my sobs as I cried, bunching his jacket with my fists, 

My chest heaving as I cried, 

"I'm so sorry little bird," He said petting my hair, 

The sheer relief of him being alive, and being here, was so overwhelming, I couldn't explain it, I held onto him tightly hoping he wouldn't disappear, hoping this wasn't a dream and I wasn't passed out in the bar after too many drinks, 

I closed my eyes as I continued to sob into his shirt, 

"Shh, little bird I'm, here, I'm here.." He said
