Chapter 36 - Let's Get This Rescue Started

I was running as fast as I could to keep up with Robinson, Hanna was on my heels. We

made it safely to the cover of an alcove on the far wall. Once against the wall, we turned and

moved toward where our intelligence believed we would find an elevator. We would need to go

underground in order to find my brother, hoping that all the guards were up above ground

participating in the fight.

Robinson found the elevator and called the car up to the surface. She told us to "Stand

back, if any one comes out of this elevator, I'll be ready for them." She aimed her sub-machine

gun at the doors. Fortunately, for us no one exited as the doors opened. We got in, figured we

would start on the bottom floor and work our way up. I stood behind Olivia and Hanna when the

doors opened once we stopped on the bottom floor.

All three of us darted out and into a narrow corridor. We followed that hallway down to

a door that opened into what looked like a science lab, after Olivia did a quick sweep, she gave

an "All Clear" and we headed back to the elevator to climb to the next level up.

I was hoping he wasn't on the last floor we would check, I had no idea how long the

others could hold our position out there and keep the plane secure. I was the first off the elevator

on the next floor. It looked a lot like an office building. There was a small cafeteria and

hallways leading off toward rooms.

Hanna took the lead, "it looks quiet on this floor, I think everyone is up top shooting at

each other, let's split up and check these halls."

Olivia looked at me and I just turned down one hall and started yelling for my brother

and checking the doors. I could hear my friends calling for him too as they quickly cleared the

hallways.

"Tannin, Tannin, are you in here?" I grabbed the handle of the third door. It was locked

tight. I looked up and around and saw the dead bolts at the top and bottom, I twisted those

quickly and swung the door open inward, "Tannin?" I questioned the dark room.

I jumped back, scared to death as the figure hopped up from hiding behind the small bed.

I found him!

"Mika, Mika, I cannot believe you are here." He squeezed me tightly and I hugged him

just as hard.

"Tannin, we have to go, Josef is up on the surface waiting for us, can you run?"

He smiled at me, "Faster that you can keep up!"

"Great, follow me, I have some friends here helping us."

We ran toward the others, "Olivia, Olivia, I have him let's get out of here." Just as I was

calling her, Hanna rounded the corner and we were all together again.

"Hi there little guy." Olivia said, "Glad to meet you, now let's run!"

We hurried to back to the elevator and pushed the button to the top level, Robinson and

Hanna both had their weapons drawn and were aiming towards the doors as we stopped at the
